I would like to replace my doorbell chimes (in the central hallway of our house) with a powered speaker, connected to the audio output of my RasPi running Domoticz.
This way I could have different sounds for different things :
- somebody presses the doorbell button
- the garage is open
- there is movement detected at night in the house (alarm)
- ...
so I would need to create a "device" that actually plays a certain MP3 ...
I could then program events to make domoticz play different sounds in different situations ...
... makes sense ?
How can I do this ?
events playing MP3's on RasPi

Re: events playing MP3's on RasPi
update
im configuring domoticz to run on a linux server, so this will make playing audio easyer than on the RasPI ?
can I create a switch that just plays an mp3 in domoticz ?

Sure, just create the switch and use a script to run a shell script on the device.
