HUE light sunset transition based on Solar Data Script - amount of lux - possible?

Post by RapTile »

Hi,

I was wondering if the following scene could be implemented based on LUX information.

If the Lux sensor hits a value, you can set the light switch on/off of course but i want to go a bit further than that.

I want to be able to enable the Hue bulbs with daylight color when Lux hits a certain amount of Lux.
So start enable the bulbs and start at 6500 Kelvin.
From that point on i want to transition slowly to a sunset color based on the sun going down and therefore the amount of Lux will drop.
The amount of lux is checked every 30 minutes.
If for some reason the amount of Lux has dropped a lot and the new value of the color should be 3100 kelvin, i dont want to drop from 6500 kelvin to 3100 kelvin but i want to have a transition time of 15 minutes to drop from 6500 kelvin to 3100 kelvin and the brightness should drop from 100% to 50%.
At some point we will reach 2000 Kelvin and a brightness of 40% when it is dark outside and we have a small amount of lux left.
From that point in want to to keep 2000 Kelvin but in like 4 hours of time i want to drop from 40% brightness to 20% of brightness.

So basically fake a sunset and lower the amount of light throughout the evening.

If that is possible, could somebody please push me into the right direction?

TIA!

Should be possible. Do you already know at what lux level the sequence should start ? and do you already use commands to set your bulbs to these Kelvin and brightness levels ? I have send a PM

No, i just initialised the solar script and got this idea.
So i should have a look at what amount of lux the script should start and investigate how to set the color temperature and brightness levels.
I am also unfamiliar to this type of scripting so i've got a long road ahead of me.
Maybe start with a number, lets say 1000 Lux and adjust that throughout the time :)

I am currently at work so i will respond to your message when i can find the time.

Did you find a solution for this idea? I like it, would be great!
