Milight Wifi Gateway on ESP8166

Post by poudenes »

Hi All,

Maybe you already know of this and some doesn't. Thats why i'm posting this because im very excited about this.

https://blog.christophermullins.com/201 ... n-esp8266/

On this website you can read everything how to build your own MILIGHT GATEWAY.
Only reason why you should do this because of the elimination of limited groups per gateway.

Im testing it now with a setup here at home. Have now 8 Remote devices each 4 groups makes 32 individual controlled bulbs.

In every group you can add as many bulbs, but i have for every group 1 build, because when i add them into domoticz i can control them
per bulb. I also have some remote devices created where i add more bulbs. (only to turn on/off a group bulbs for example living room.

With this ESP8266 emulator you're 100% free of building your setup!!!

This is indeed an excellent way to add Milight bulbs to your domoticz system without an original gateway and without an original remote :D

I go change this week my setup. Remove 2 original gateways and use this one. Everything done in the webui have now 9 remotes added and all my combinations for bulbs created. Faster response because you don't have yurnnon/off multiple individual bulbs in Domoticz. Example : all bulbs in living and dining room in a group to turn them off when sleeping. Added this group (bulb) in domitcz also als slave in all individual bulbs. So the status of those bulbs will also get same status.

Love domotica!!!
