FIBARO System FGBS001 Universal Binary Sensor - Basic questions

Post by nizaga »

Hello,

I am trying to use the FIBARO System FGBS001 Universal Binary Sensor to create a "Smart doorbell". When i include the FGBS001 in domoticz, two switches type on/off are created. I have a very old-fashioned doorbell. I guess the switch inside the button is normally open, so when the button is pushed, the contacts close.

What is the right combination to configure my doorbell (in terms o domoticz switch type, contact? doorbell? on/off switch?) and
Parameter No. 3 Available settings:
0 – INPUT_NO (Normal Open)
1 – INPUT_NC (Normal Close)
2 – INPUT_MONOSTABLE
3 – INPUT_BISTABLE

My initial approach was : domoticz device type doorbell, FGBS001 parameter to 0 (input_normal open), but it does not respond.

Many thanks,

nim

Hello Nizaga,

I am using INPUT NC (normally closed).

There is a wiring diagram on this website (in dutch but shows the connections)

Hi!

You use INPUT NC, and domoticz device type switch on/off with a delay off x seconds? there is another thread where i saw you can't use the doorbell type

Thanks,

I also have a NC setting for the Fibaro binary sensor. The switch in domoticz remains a on/off type, but there is no need for a off delay as the person at your door will press the bell switch -> contact opens, then releases the bell switch -> contact closes.
I have a script being executed from the on-action that sends me a message with a screenshot. This means the script is executed once the bell switch is released. If you want it sooner, just execute it from the off-action.

Hi, i am still lost:

If you select NC then the domoticz ON/OFF is always ON until someone press the bell and then it turns to off, and when the person releases the bell it turns back to on?

Thanks!
