AIRZONE and DOMOTICZ (poll)

Post by multinet »

Hello

After many search & try I succeed in linking my airzone system (2007 - not cloud - no webserver - with TACTO remote) to my AIR/AIR air conditionner with domoticz

I can now completly control my heater/cooler via domiticz (multiple scenario using temp sensor, presence sensor etc)

Let me know here if you are interesting in a complete step by step tuto

Hello!,

I'm very interested in this project, especially because my main thermostat is broken and I don't find spares. My Airzone is an Cordless (infra-red communication), but I think it uses the same switchboard as the Tacto thermostat. It will be awesome to be able to control it with Domoticz. Waiting with lot of fans your solution!

Thank you very much!

Edit: it will be useful know the hardware and materials you use. So I could go buying them online. Thank you very much!

Hello

I will try to do it soon (in French)

Where are’ you living ? Because it is possible to repair airzone harware ans on my side I can control my airzone either « manually » with my airzone remote or automatically with domoticz

Hi multinet,

thank you for your interest. I'm from Spain, I live in a village in Málaga. The master thermostat has been failing for 2 years. I clean the connectors that go from the screen to the board, but each time it fails more. In the technical service they tell me that there is no repair. If you know any tutorial, I would appreciate it. Do not worry about doing the tutorial in French. I will find a way to understand it. Google is our friend!

Thank you very much.

Ok great it seems it is fully compatible with my solution.

For the materials I use :
- a raspberry pi (2 but 3 is better)
- a relay board (10 relays at least because I have 4 zones (2 relays per zone) + 2 relays to manage heating (1) or cooling (1)settings) : it seems you have 4 zones too
- temperature sensor in each room (for me 3x DS18B20 and a netatmo)

And ... that’s all :)

Are you aware with raspberry+domoticz+gpio+dzvents scripting ?

What you can try by yourself very quickly :

1/ on your mainboard your have a connector with 6 wires (saloon maestro at the bottom right) : this is the connector for the main room. It manages the heating/cooling of the room PLUS the heating/cooling/stop setting of your system

—> normally wires are in color like this (from left to right)
Blue (Y) / black (-) /marron (W) / red (+) / green (V /yellow (I)

To set to cooling you just have to wire green to black
To set to heating you just have to wire yellow to black

Then on the same connector for you main room managing

To start cooling you have to wire blue to black (with the cooling setting above)
To start heating you have to wire marron to black (with the heating setting Above)

For that unwire the remote in order to not have conflit between remote setting and your manual test

2/ for the other rooms you just have 4 wires because the heating/cooling/stop setting is only on the main connector (see Above)
From left to right you must have :

Blue (Y) / black (-) /marron (W) / red (+)

So if you have wired correctly for heating or cooling settings on the main connector you can start heating or cooling a zone by Wiring :
- for cooling the zone : black and blue (with the correct cooling setting on main connector)
- for heating the zone : Black and maroon (with the correct heating setting on the main connector)

For that unwire the remote in order to not have conflit between remote setting and your manual test

3/ if it runs correctly manually, after that domoticz, temperature sensor and relay board can manage automatically the need of heating and cooling. I will share my systems and scripts soon

Let me know if you succeed in testing manually you airzone

Oh thank you very much!. I have a little programming knowledge (self-taught: copy, paste and modify ;- D). But I have touched everything you say (raspberry + domoticz + gpio + dzvents / blockly scripting). I suppose the Netatmo is to use it as master thermostat... Is it necessary to be Netatmo or can I use any other thermostat?. What kind of relays (features: AC/DC, volt, etc...) should I buy ?. As soon as I have a little time I'll do the tests you say. Thank you very much again!

No my « thermostat » are virtual and managed by domoticz

Thé netatmo is only a temperature sensor it could be replace by any other temperature sensor recognize by domoticz

The power of the solution is that you can manage every zone either in « tacto airzone » or in domoticz mode.

You will anderstand with the tutorial

Hi,

I made the test with no luck. I tried to switch on the main zone and others zones on cool mode, but the main board didn't respond... When you say connect blue and black, I should make a bridge between those. Is that right?. Image

Yes but if your main remote is KO you must Bridge green (V) and black (-) on the 6 pin connector (where it is hand written « maestro saloon ») to activate the COLD mode

Did you that ?

Yes, I did that in the main zone connector with the same result. If I make a bridge between the black and green connectors in the main zone, the motherboard does nothing. Anyway, the main thermostat is in cool mode. I put it on with a lot of difficult with the ir thermostat.
