Hello,
Small question, at this moment my old Visonic Powermax pro isn't working anymore so I'm looking for an primary standalone alarm system.
But with an pretty easy way to connect to Domoticz.
I have already found that the Xiaomi system is easy to connect and the sensors ar really low cost.
But are there other systems that are good working with Domoticz? .
Alarm system

Re: Alarm system
Most people on the forum (including myself) built their own. Multiple threads on the forum some of which are quite simple to put together using a few sensors.

Re: Alarm system
Ah, i can assure you that in my case, it's no issue at all. My alarm auto arms based on presence so no requirement on anyone. I have used domoticz for years now and have 3 women in the house. Waf is not my issue anymore haha

Re: Alarm system
If you use Z-wave, you can also get key-fobs for arming/disarming. Should be WAF-proof. Or detecte presence like heggink suggested, but I find the presence-detection a little bit unreliable sometimes. Too much issues that phones don't react on WiFi-pings when they are on standby and that sort of thing.phoenixblue wrote: Wednesday 27 June 2018 9:58 I like to to made it from Domoticz, but the WAF is in this case an issue![]()

Re: Alarm system
Agree that presence detection is tricky which is why I use a combination of: ip ping, Bluetooth ping and geofence (both life360 and apple's). On top of that, I have electronic door locks (nuki) that also disarm so the alarm is always and automatically in the right state. As long as my network is unhackable (as much as realistically doable) then I am goodHobbybob wrote:If you use Z-wave, you can also get key-fobs for arming/disarming. Should be WAF-proof. .The pros of your own alarm is that you can really get it to do what you want as opposed to be limited by the vendor. It's not that difficult and it's muuuch cheaper and more flexible. A tripple whammy if you ask me...

Re: Alarm system
Totally agree with that. My house had an alarm in it when we bought it, but creating your own is much cheaper and more versatile. I don't have electronic locks as "back-up" for controlling the presence, that is a nice addition!heggink wrote: Wednesday 27 June 2018 11:37 Agree that presence detection is tricky which is why I use a combination of: ip ping, Bluetooth ping and geofence (both life360 and apple's). Re: Alarm system
Btw, the nuki integration is a bit trick (I have scripts) but the locks themselves are really really good!
