so "sync my devices" isn't adding the new devices?

I can't see any "sync my devices" button in G.A. Anyway, I tried to tell Google to sync devices (in italian) but it seem not working.

Google now allow you to leave a review, as well as rate Controlicz. Please feel free to leave me a review, and if the person who rated it 1* could say why it was so poor, it would be helpful!

Ciao @art4me
Can you tell me the command to sync the devices?
You mean that if I add/remove/change a device in Domoticz in one of the room it will be updated via controlicz in the google home list?
Thanks

Only found https://assistant.google.com/services/a ... 2?hl=en-US which shows a rating of ★ 4.7

Can you give the url where we can review?

@Akerboom thanks
Some weeks ago in Italian was not working, now with "sincronizza i miei dispositivi" it works fine.

Same behaviour. I'm using italian as well.
The blinds are seen as a light/switch so it's not possible to set the %. If you change the control (domoticz) )to dimmer, you can set the % but as my binds are "inverted" I have to exchange open with close and so on. % as well.

mantoz wrote: Wednesday 25 April 2018 21:59 Hi,
I did some more tests with Controlicz and I'm very happy with it. Using Italian.

Only strange things I noticed:
1. blinds appear to be inverted. In domoticz they're set as "Blinds percentage" and icons (open/closed) are correct. In Controlicz/Google home they appear to be inverted, as I have to say "switch off the blinds" to open them and vice versa. I could invert them in Domoticz, but then I'd have the wrong icons in domoticz (open when they're really closed and so on). Any workaround available?

2. related to 1. --> In Italian we usually say "Open blinds" and "Close blinds" instead of "Switch on/off the blinds" (translated, of course). This does not work. I assume that this is a Google Home bug, and/or is due to Google Home thinking that my blinds are really switches.
Can you confirm this please?

Thanks,
mantoz

I wish this place had a vote system.
Historically, when this all first went live on Alexa, on = close, off = open - then with feedback, it was inverted. Then after other people complained, it was put back the way it was.
If there is a general consensus driving change (We love a referendum in this country), i'll change it.

You're right, both Alexa and Google are missing open/close.

domoticz has different switch types for the blinds:
  • Blinds
    Blinds Inverted
    Blinds percentage
    Blinds percentage inverted
and the behavior depends on those types, so no "universal" behaviour despite a referendum.....

If only the Domoticz API had blinds as a device type. (it doesn't).

If I send /json.htm?type=devices&filter=all&used=true&order=Name in the response I can get the switch type
.....
SubType: "Switch",
SwitchType: "Blinds Percentage Inverted",
SwitchTypeVal: 16,
......

I stand corrected!
Let me see what I can do. The issue is mainly around storing that your blinds are inverted, for controls. I don't query that every time you issue a command, only for discoveries, so i have to store and replay that data, then invert the command.

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration

Post by jakeB »

Hi everyone,

Thanks for this great service and I can't wait to try it out. However I do have some problem some other have mentioned here. Everything works and checks out, however in the last step, adding Controlicz in the Google Home app, I get the 'Couldn't update the setting, check your connection' error.

I've tried with both a standard Google (gmail) account and a Google apps account. Controlicz itself returns a successful test in the website. I also have the scenes tab enabled (with several scenes on it), as well as the rooms, roomplans, and devices in the rooms.

Any suggestions?
