Set up Domoticz as a secondary controller

Post by cjnicholl »

I am trying to set up Domoticz as a secondary controller to a Vera Edge but I'm running into some odd problems. The system I have is:

Vera Edge (This is a ZWave Gateway for a home automation system called Total Control. It has a special firmware as there is a seperate network based controller that does most of the hard work but to all intents and purposes it is a Vera Edge with UI7 installed).
Aeotec ZWave USB Stick (I have tried this with a S2 and a Gen 5)
Linux Server running Domoticz (Latest Beta)

The Vera has two TKB wall switches included so far and is working fine - I can see and control both without problems.

On the Vera I select Add Device, Generic Z-Wave Device and then select Receive Configuration From Other Controller in Domoticz.

At this point OpenZwave crashes (I think) and Domoticz goes offline. When I restart the Domoticz service I can see 4 ZWave nodes:
0x01 MIOS Unknown (ID 0x0023, Type 0x0014)
0x02 TKB Switch 1 (ID 0x0103, Type 0x0101)
0x03 TKB Switch 2 (ID 0x0103, Type 0x0101)
0x09 Controller (ID 0x0000, Type 0x0000)

Vera shows a device can be added (scene controller) and then says it cannot contact the device. Both devices show as primary controllers in their config.

Last night I could control the TKB switches from Vera and from Domoticz, today I can only control them from Vera, I get a timeout notification in my Domoticz logs if I try from Domoticz.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong or what is going wrong. I have tried this 3 or 4 times with two different ZWave USB sticks with the same results every time.
