Re: RFlink upgrade
Hi poudenes,
If you have a 433 Mhz module this one will only support equipment which is designed for 433Mhz
there are 2 frequencies which are used on the 433Mhz channel
-433.20 Mhz. mostly used for controlling somfy stuff.
-433.92 Mhz. for the most common equipment like KAKU and TFA
and then you have the 868.3 Mhz channel for most of the equipment which operates om the 868Mhz channel.
so if you want to control everything you need 3 separate RF link kits.
If you do not control somfy products you will be fine with the 433.92 kit (you already have) and the 868.3 kit
I hope this will help you a bit..

Raspberry P3, RF-Link FW version 48, lots of KAKU switches, Sonos connected, LG TV switching, a lot of weather switches.

I read that MiLIght work on 2.4Ghz. WIll search for a RFlink that have 2.4Ghz supportJochem wrote: ↑Thursday 11 January 2018 13:23 Hi poudenes,

Re: RFlink upgrade
2,4 Ghz is the WIFI channel so that has nothing to do with the external antenna's.
In your case I see you have an RPi3 just configure WIFI (in case you did not have set it up yet)
after that domoticz can control your milight by wifi
there's no RF link with 2,4Ghz support, you don't need an rf link to control the milight.

Re: RFlink upgrade
He hallo ik zie staan Amsterdam...
even simpel in Nederlands uitgelegd:

Re: RFlink upgrade
I'm afraid the above advices are sending you in the wrong way.
If you want to control your MiLight you can add an NRF24L01+ to your RFLink. Costst only a couple of euro/dollar.
2.4Ghz is the frequency, however it is not the same as your standard WiFi signal.
Check your RFLink version if you can add an NRF24L01+. There should be a header on top of you board.
The NRF24L01+ is sold in the Nodoshop for intance:
https://www.nodo-shop.nl/en/zend-ontvan ... odule.html
Edit: You have to activate your NRF in the RFLink FW when added to your board.

And i can add this module beside the 433mhz module?Milifax wrote: ↑Thursday 11 January 2018 14:24I'm afraid the above advices are sending you in the wrong way.

Re: RFlink upgrade
I have it working on 433mhz with my KaKu devices and 2.4Ghz for MiLight Bulbs.
Also I have some wifi-modules on 2.4Ghz with ESPEasy FW. Those use the standard WiFi-signal which connect with my standard router.
All work together ofcourse.
All are seperate frequencies and thus can work next to eachother.
The RFLink board can handle both 433Mhz and 2.4Ghz Milight stuff. And I think, but not sure, you can even expand it for the 8xxMhz band.

Re: RFlink upgrade
That really depends on the fact if the OP has a milight controller in his network (i.e. if he currently can turn on/off lights from his mobile). If that is the case, the RFLink extension is not needed and things work directly from Domoticz. If there is no controller in the network, the module is of course a very cost effective way of adding one....Milifax wrote:I'm afraid the above advices are sending you in the wrong way.

Well the OP states:leonmoonen wrote: ↑Thursday 11 January 2018 16:09 That really depends on the fact if the OP has a milight controller in his network (i.e. if he currently can turn on/off lights from his mobile). To me the question here is, if it is possible to control his MiLights through RFLink.I want upgrade my RFlink so i can use all mhz possible frequencies.
So i can control my MiLIght lamps as well
The advice given before is surely incorrect and the correctness doesn't change if OP has a controller or not.
Hence the answer of the add-on.

Re: RFlink upgrade
I read on RFlink when you upgrade the firmware ro R48 i can control MiLight using the NRF24L01 add-on module.

Re: RFlink upgrade
yep, it’ll need that module to control your MiLights w/o having a ‘native’ MiLight controller in your network.poudenes wrote:I read on RFlink when you upgrade the firmware ro R48 i can control MiLight using the NRF24L01 add-on module.
I went the alternative route, adding a box milight controller which I use as a messaging light and as a controller that is directly addressed from Domoticz. Overall that is a more expensive solution (from the top of my head 12/13euro more) but I like having an alternative way to control my lights when (not if) my RPi crashes... I find having such a backup also greatly improves the acceptance by others in the household, but YMMV

Re: RFlink upgrade
I have already 2 MiLight controllers as well. Connected to Domoticz. But when i can control them using RFlink i dont have the problem when my WiFi is bad or whatever... Domoticz can send the command to RFlink (USB) and then directly to lamp. Instead Domoticz via WiFi to Milight Controller etc.leonmoonen wrote: ↑Thursday 11 January 2018 18:23yep, it’ll need that module to control your MiLights w/o having a ‘native’ MiLight controller in your network.poudenes wrote:I read on RFlink when you upgrade the firmware ro R48 i can control MiLight using the NRF24L01 add-on module.
