mmm i dont get it.
I wired my presoldered RFLink to an ESP8266 Nodemcu as mentioned above, but it seems that no signal is recognized.
The ESP has ESPEasy R133
The testremote i use is an Elro AB440R (AB400 is supported)
Domoticz say that it could not connect to the ESP.
In the devices menu, the port is empty (I configured it at 9999)

Running rflink on a esp8266 isn't easy.
Hallard and other already try this without succes, atmega chip and esp chip don't run at the same speed, esp got a loop who kill some decoding process.
I heard that Stuntteam receive a wemos this summer...
Following last news, they works on new rf composant implentation to help decoding more rf range 868, 2.4ghz who will give more product.
Maybe later they will work on a real Rflink Wifi.
Actually ser2net solution is a good one, works with Syno, Linux, Windows, Mac, Esp, even on some openwrt router
Can be good if someone can find equivalent for an anduino ethernet shield, this can help too

mmm.. i use the ESP8266 Nodecmu as ser2net, but it seems they dont communicate with each other.
I can use an RPI2 as ser2net server, but an ESP uses less power (0,6 Watt)
Hope that someone finds an wireless solution (the TPLink is a good one as well, but more pricy)

You easly can found a 2nd hand openwrt device who can run ser2net.

why not run it completely on the esp8266 should be fast enough and has plenty of storage

A ESP isn't a Mega, look twice between spec of the 2 parts.

Seems to be working nicely and reconnecting!
I also transferred the settings/saved switches from by USB RFlink to by LAN RFLink by simply just editing the USB RFLink in 'Hardware' to be a RFLINK LAN and clicking update.

Baud Rate
I had a lot of problems getting this to work until I inspected the RFlink source code and found that the latest release of RFLink (R46) sets the baud rate of RX0 & TX0 at 57600 so I changed it in the Ser2Net sketch and it worked instantly. I also pulled the reset pin of the esp8266 up to 3.3v which hasn't done it any harm but I'm not sure if it is necessary - just something I found on another forum.
Thought I would share in case it saves anyone else some time.

So,
I did some searching etc. and wired up my ESP-01 to the RFLink.
I have set everything up with ESPeasy and everything is working.
I do have a small remark to make on the wiring schedule below:
--The yellow line on the MEGA board should be connected to the TX0-->1 connection(as it is in the picture it cant because it's occupied by the RFLink)
--The blue line on the MEGA board should be connected to the RX0<--0 connection instead of the one in the image(as it is in the picture it cant because it's occupied by the RFLink)
--Be sure to connect the red wire to the 3.3 volt output of the Arduino Mega(look on the board)
--Connect the following pins to 3.3 volt, VCC, RST, CH_PD and GPIO0. This should ensure that the ESP-01 boots in the correct mode.
The resistors ensure that the 5 volt TX0-->1 output of the Arduino MEGA is stept down to 3.3 volt where the RX is made for.
ESP-01 pin description
If have setup ESPeasy with the following Controller settings:
Protocol: Domoticz HTTP
Locate controller: Use IP Address
Controller IP: your domoticz IP
Controller port: your domoticz Port
Controller user: empty/nothing
Controller Password: empty/nothing
Enabled: Box ticked
If have setup ESPeasy with the following Device settings:
Device: Serial Server
Name: Choose one
TCP Port: 9999
Baudrate: 57600
Data bits: 8

You can try it for 1 shot only
Feeding an 5v to a max 3.3 input will get the ESP into troubles !
Please keep in mind. All electronic components work on smoke.... Do not let it escape.

for the record I just build my own RFLink box, including a ESP8266 01 using the serial gateway of ESPEasy, and this 5V/3.3V converter: http://www.arobose.com/shop/cartes-d-ex ... gique.html. (Ref BOB-12009)
I do not use additional PSU for the ESP, but the Mega is powered by a free spare 6.5 V/600 mA that seems enough.
It took me a while to figure the right wiring (ok, I tried every combination until I had one with a full PING/PONG sequence ). So it should help other people in the same situation so here is my exact wiring (radio is not displayed):

I’m looking to get started with the RFLink myself and was hoping to interface with it over WiFi myself. Came accros your recent post and checked-out the Mega you mentioned. Seems like a nice and tidy solution but my technical knowledge on how to put it all together and programm the Mega and the ESP using the dipswich settings is lacking.
Would you be able to give us some instructions on how you managed to set-up the board in conjunction with the RFLink and ser2net server?
Some photos from the final result would also be nice.
