Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
honestly? I'm amazed they work as expected for Alexa, as I don't do *anything* to handle the different levels etc, so if i do, i'm better than i thought.Lyrex wrote: ↑Friday 01 December 2017 17:56 I think selector switches dont work correct as well at the moment. I got a selector switch with all my avr channels but i cant set them via "set channels to x" or set channels to x%" like i did with alexa. Do i sth wrong or is it not possible for the moment ?
Seriously, if Selector Switches are a thing - and you're not the first to mention them, then i'll try and work something out. The issue we have with Google, is that there's no 'Type' that i can fit Selector switches in to - by that I mean there's no Type that allows different modes, other than designating it as a Dishwasher, and even then, i'm not sure how it would work.

For what it's worth, I just use virtual push switches to control selector switches then call the push switch from Google. A simple approach but works fine.

yep, that's how i've been telling people to handle it - mostly because it means I don't have to do anything
I will take a look, might be a way to handle it, maybe.

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
I was experimenting with a separate user in Dominica to limit the number of devices shown in the Home app. I found that this wasn't happening and all the devices were still visible (in Home and Domoticz) I then realised that I could access Domoticz from outside my network without a password, it appears that Domoticz is treating a port forwarded request as if it's engaging from the local network. So I changed the 'local network' setting in Domoticz to only accept access from specific device in my network, a PC and a couple of Android tablets that send data to Domoticz. After doing this and re-linking Home to Controlicz I found that now the number of devices in the Home app was limited to those assigned to my Controlicz user. So far so good. Unfortunately I then get a response from Google 'An error has occurred, I am unable to control your home devices'.
I then tried backing out the changes I had made and ended up going well the way back to having only one Domoticz user with access to all devices and only limited to this that are in 'rooms'.
Whilst not exactly a Controlicz issue it might help some people who have tried to unsuccessfully limit the devices appearing in the Home app

Hi alanlsmith - it's weird that the discovery worked, but subsequent controls didn't. I'll take a look, but almost feels like a caching issue within the google app.
in fact, could you replicate the change you made, do a discovery, try and control a device, and PM when you've done it?

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
Will do.
It's also rather concerning that I can reach Domoticz from the outside without any credentials. I have to look into that a bit more, I'd been doing it with a tablet and phone when it suddenly dawned on me that I had been using a browser not the app, so no embedded username and password.
Incidentally although the Controlicz user did limit the devices shown in the Home app not all that were assigned to that user and were in 'rooms' appeared.
Regards caching in the Home app. When I changed user I exited the devices screen after I unlinked Controlicz and then went back in to confirm that there were no devices listed before I relinked to Controlicz. Not conclusive I know but it does appear that they were forgotten prior to relinking.
I was also wondering if I should have added the IP address of the Google Homes to the allowed list in Domoticz but I'm not sure if that would have made sense. As the instruction route must be from Google > Controlicz > Domoticz.

yeah, you can whitelist the controlicz IP, there's no direct interactions

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
Hi,
I make an account on controlicz, i add the user in domoticz and give acces to this user for control a dummy lamp.
But when i check google home, i didn't discovery controlicz, i discovered my own app only.
I need you add my mail adress for that ?
If it's possible i really want to try it and be a tester.
my adress is [email protected]
Thanks.

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
Sorry, that was a bit of false information.alanlsmith wrote: ↑Saturday 02 December 2017 18:52 It's also rather concerning that I can reach Domoticz from the outside without any credentials. I have to look into that a bit more
Although I have changed both my tablet and phone since I started using Domoticz, Google had helpfully cached my credentials so that when I restored my account to my new phone and tablet I was still able to (apparently) sign on without entering a username or password. I'm now more careful and aware of account details being stored.
Anyway. I tried various 'simple' methods of accessing Domoticz from the outside world and was met with a user/password challenge each time.
So that's not (really) a problem.

Hello,
I previously registered with an email address like [email protected] on Controlicz
When clicking on the link you provided by email, I got the error : "There was an error completing your request
TRY AGAIN". Tried again but same result.
I decided to change my email address on Controlicz to see if a gmail address would work better. Now my address is [email protected]
Can you check if everything seems OK with my account ?
Thanks a lot,

Re: Controlicz - Domoticz to Google Home/Assistant integration
Having some issues with temperature sensors. I've got 7 temperature sensors around the house but controlicz only finds one of them ("Office temperature"), the others (eg "Kitchen Temperature" and "Hallway Temperature") are never found.
I've tried adding controlicz: names in Domoticz, tried unlinking and re-linking and tried asking Google Home about them, "Looks like this device is not setup yet, go to app...." But it's never there.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
