JSON API command to change state of switch without running attached script?

Right now I have 3 switches, a momentary relay switch (just a generic on/off but really its a push button), a contact sensor and virtual door switch (in it I have on/off API calls to turn the relay switch on which open/closes the door).

I want to mirror the open/close state of the sensor to the virtual door switch, so if its open it shows open, but not run the open/close script on the switch unless I actually use the switch. I want to do this to keep the state in sync if as I also use the key or remote to open the door.

I tried putting the toggle API command on the on/off script of the sensor, but when it ran, it also ran the open/close script on the virtual switch, creating a bit of a loop.

Is there an API command that does a "silent" state change?
