Hue white instead of RGBW

Post by jjnj »

Dear Domoticz users, after almost 3 years of happy usage i'm running into some problems with my current setup.
Momentarily I have around 25 Hue lamps. Some are ''on their own'' and others are part of a lamp or group.

In some cases a group consists of only Hue white bulbs. Unfortunatelly when adding the group/room to Domoticz I'm running into the following issue. The group is automatically seen asLightning, Limitless/Applamp with the SubType: RGBW
Image

When trying to switch the lamps/group/room via Domoticz the following pop-up appears
Image
This isn't needed since there are only white bulbs available (no color temp, just dim)

I'm looking for an option to use the lamps/group/room the same as the dimmer below. So just on/off and a slider

Currently the lamps/group/room have the following settings

(setting the lamp to the white option next to the colorpicker is just to change the current color value not the switch type itself)

Is there a way to change the type of the device so that domoticz will tread it as a regular dimmer instead of RGBW values?

Your help is very much appreciated!!!

The update (stable) around september had a rework on the HUE. However resulted into this behaviour.

I also have 4 whites and 2 colored. Not mixed. Using the Whites as simple dimmers the way you like.

And control the scenes for them with the selectorswitch.

When you use the grouped whites, you probebly noticed that they hardly or not at al when you modify the color.

I think they programmed this way to have a more genuine control of the so many different dimmers, to work with in general.

Maybe this is where I should have posted this question..?

"I have been using Hue with Philips lamps for some time, works fine. Now I added Ikea Trådfri bulbs and I see some issues when they go across to Domoticz. The ambient lamps shows up as dimmable, but I can't set the tone from Domoticz, and the colored bulb comes up as only on/off.

Looking in the HUE app they works fine, I can set tone and colors.

What i find a bit strange is that the colored lamp shows in "Scenes" with the option to set color.

Can anyone confirm that this is the best we can achieve at this point, or if not, suggest work arounds?

Thanks"
