Re: Domoticz and robot vacuum cleaners
Can someone explain or tell me how I can make this work in LUA? I don't understand the languages used to talk with the API.
I would like to start the robot at given times and conditions from Domoticz. So the only command I would send is the start command.

Of course Neato is also the best option you can go for.
And I hope this will help you: http://domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=103

Hello @Awst6000 I think it's too late for the reply, but I think it will help others Because people are looking for domoticz monitorization. And as you said you are thinking about going for a Neato XV Signature Pro. Yeah, It's great....But hold on, if are more concerned for monitoring your robot vacuum with domoticz. I highly recommend going for a Roomba 650.
Reasons:
- Roomba is from Irobot, the reputable brand. They will help you whatever problem is without any pay.
- And another thing is there are so many helpful sources on this domoticz forum alone which will make you help to monitor. Check out this once...http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=6195
- And the last but the most important, such a high equipped robot vacuum cleaner with an affordable price tag (just under 300$) robot vacuum.
And Roomba 980 is also the best option for domoticz monitorization. But it is a bit pricey robot vacuum cleaner. So If you are with full packed wallet It's better to go for it, otherwise, 650 is an ideal option.
Hope this message useful to you.

Re: Domoticz and robot vacuum cleaners
I have the Roomba 650 and ordered the roowifi module. This should make it possible to control and monitor the Roomba with Domoticz.

If I have it I will share my findings.

Re: Domoticz and robot vacuum cleaners
I mostly use iRobot vacuum, and its brand new 980 Roomba model blows my mind. But it's too much expensive. So, I'm going to buy Roomba 960 for now. its also have wifi connectivity.

Roomba 650 could be helpful for someone you have several pets in their home. I helps to pick up very tiny hair and dust. It will create a report after cleaning and controlled remotely.So it is suitable to those who want to keep clean their room when they are at office.
Here is more information with some reviews regarding the Roomba 650: https://www.robotvacuumarea.com/irobot-roomba-650/

Re: Domoticz and robot vacuum cleaners
I had it working a bit with a lua script but it doesn't work anymore so I'm trying to make it work again with a Dzvents script. The script was able to read out the values.

Indeed you need te make some Python scripts. You can then pull them with virtual swithes and a LUA script.
Example Script to start Cleaning:
Code: Select all
import sys
from pybotvac import Robot
if sys.version_info[0] < 3:
input = raw_input
robot = Robot('Secret Key XXXXXXXXX', 'Robot Name XXXXX')
print(robot)
robot.start_cleaning()
Code: Select all
import sys
from pybotvac import Robot
if sys.version_info[0] < 3:
input = raw_input
robot = Robot('Secret Key XXXXXXXXX', 'Robot Name XXXXX')
print(robot)
robot.stop_cleaning()

Re: Domoticz and robot vacuum cleaners
I use iRobot Roomba Vacuum and it gives a powerful cleaning to my entire home. Compact Size and Self Sufficiency which comes with this vacuum makes it a great cleaning aid.

Re: Domoticz and robot vacuum cleaners
Greetings,
Was looking whether there are plans to support PureClean models (like PUCRC95, for instance)?
I guess though it'd be much easier to switch to another vac, but hope dies last. So thanks anyway.
