Sonoff and Domoticz

Post by bigpea »

Hi all,
I want to control the light of my house with the Sonoff switch:

I searched in this and others forum some guide or manual but it's not clear how this system works.

I understood that:
  • I need a sonoff hardware, easy for now :D
  • I need Domoticz
  • I have to link domoticz system with Sonoff hardware via MQQT (Screenshot_11.png), but.. how??
I'm very confused, please could you help me, speaking easily?

Thanks.

You don't *have* to use MQTT as it can also be done just with HTTP. What you *do* have to do for either option is to flash the Sonoff with different on-board firmware. The most popular is probably ESPeasy. It's all covered at

You will need to do some soldering on the Sonoff to add the programming cables and you will also need some kind of USB to FTDI converter board to do the actual flashing of the new firmware.

ok, it's clear, but for my hw level these are very complicated operations..
I thought it was something simpler.
Many thanks.
