Remote access with HomeKit

Post by EdddieN »

Hi

I have e-Domoticz running with a RPI3 and also an Apple TV4 as a hub.
All works fine but when I'm out of the LAN, the devices appear as not responding.

I have tried so far:
-reset ATV
-signed in and out iCloud
-have also iPad as a hub

I usually get it to work for a couple of days after an iCloud log out but then it fails again.

The odd thing is that within the HomeKit app I can see the ATV hub connected (remotely) but the accessories show as not responding.

Also I use foscam plugin for IP cameras and these work ok.

Anyone experienced anything similar? Very puzzle by it as it the past used the work pretty well.

I think it's a network problem Have you a firewall on?

Little question: i'm working to do the same (domoticz + homebridge + appletv)
It's better do Scenes and automation in domoticz or in apple-home app?

for example: notify when door open, enable all light etc...

Got to the bottom of it, HomeKit does no like to have loads of devices so I created a room t select only the devices for the plug in. Since then no issue at all!

Re scenes, it is nice to be able to make scenes on your phone but if you remove your home edomoticz from HomeKit, you loose all your apple scenes. Just keep in mind that if you have loads of them
