Best Z-Wave startpack Raspberry

Post by Ploppy »

Hi Guys,

Currently using Fibaro HC2, with most Fibaro devices. Looking into switching to Raspberry 3 with Domoticz, because I'm not satisfied. Want to try if Domoticz can bring more.

Do you have a recommendation which is the best combination. I was told that AEON Labs Z-wave usb with Pi 3 is the way to go. Can anyone confirm or advise otherwise?

Thanks in advance

Yes, the Aeon Labs Aeotec Gen 5 Z-Wave plus USB adapter is good. I am also using this controller on a Raspberry pi 2 with Domoticz and it works fine!
Installation is also easy. Support Z-Wave and Z-Wave plus devices.

In my opinion that's the way to go. Along with a decent class 10 SD card and the ramdrive/disk instructions :

Reason for choosing this: energy efficiency (pi only uses a few watts) and wide community support.
Synology NAS, slave PI3, ZWave (Fibaro), Xiaomi zigbee devices, BTLE plant sensor, DzVents, Dashticz on tablet, Logitech Media Server
