Hardwired Smoke Alarm

Post by daryah »

Hi all

Any help in identifying a hardwired (mains connected) smoke alarm that also talks to the rfxtrx433 would be appreciated.

Cheers
Hiro

You're excluding a lot of smoke alarms with that hardwired requirement. Finding such that also talks to the rfxtrx433 will be hard, indeed.

May I propose getting a battery-powered one. Put a rechargeable battery in it and connect a mains-powered DC powersupply to that, via a diode and a charging resistor. This will keep that battery topped up. No need for changing batteries anymore and it will still work if mains power drops out.
