Philio PST02-A 4 in 1 Multi-Sensor doesn't work properly

Hi everybody, I'm trying to use with Domoticz rel. v3.5877 OpenZWave Version: 1.4-2228-gbce4a88-dirty the multisensor by Philio PST02-A (four in one) but the door/windows sensor and tamper status are never returned.

After inclusion:

Lux, Temperature and Sensor (PIR) are regularly updated, but all the other devices are never updated, despite of any action on magnetic sensor or tamper switch!

I've tried to include it as SECURE or NOT SECURE, nothing changes, and also the association of Group 2 to the controller was useless, any idea?
Am I the first owner of this node?

Next to the sensor in Domoticz Z-Wave hardware tab what is the ID and type numbers:

Is it: 0x0002 0x0002

sorry I've forgotten to specify the identification values: they're id=0x000C and model=0x0002.

Make a backup of your Domoticz folder first:

Stop Domoticz

Find this line in your manufacturer_specific.xml file

<Product type="0002" id="000c" name="PST02-A 4 in 1 Multi-Sensor" config="philio/pst02.xml"/>

change the location to 4in1.xml, add the attached 4in1.xml into the philio folder

Start Domoticz, exclude and re-include the device and see if that fixes it.

Note these changes get lost each time you update Domoticz, I have a script that makes the changes necessary on my system automatically.

thanks to your XML now the new Door/Window Sensor works properly!

I've understood the CommandClass id="48" created two new devices (Door/Window and Tamper), but not the Motion Sensor; despite it is not useful (PIR status is reported by device 0000xx00, labelled as Sensor) I'm curious to know the reason it was not created, any idea?

In addition, the Tamper Sensor has been set to On state the first time I've closed/opened the rear tamper switch and after this it is fixed always to On status, there are any way to reset it to Off, maybe do you have a suggestion for this relative small issue too?

Finally, I've preparred the attached pst02-a.xml adding to the standard pst02.xml file the CommandClass id="48" definition lines from your 4in1.xml; I've done this merge because your xml file doesn't address all the config parameters available on Gen5 device.

I have exactly the same device: Philio PST02-A
On my RaspberryPi beta release 3.6635 I just included the device and see the same list of sensors as in your first post.

For me, the door/window sensor works out of the box: If I move the magnet and 'open' the door, the ' Access Control' is switched to 'On'. Also the temperature and lux are i believe updated regularly (although the name says Unknown for the lux sensor).

The motion sensor however is not working and is displayed as a on/off. Maybe I have to play with the sensitivity settings to actually get the good motion detection I want (distance versus sensitivity).

Would I really need this new XML you guys provided? As I'm not exactly sure about the changes in relation to the default openzwave file I'm using, and why its not included there if we would need these changes.

It should work with default settings, I think it's not your problem:

This module (I have the Zipato clone since 2 month in my garage on the side door, using the magnet, and the movement detection that'll trigger on the large front car door movement) is known to require being associate to group 2 to get motion detection status reported in Domoticz.

If these are real clones, it should work after tuning this z-wave setting.

After making the change I had to exclude then re-include the device for the change to take effect. I've got half a dozen of these sensors working perfectly for years with Domoticz (Motion, Door, Temperature and Light).

Not sure about the tamper sensor, I have no need for that in my environment.

Also the change has to be re-applied each time Domoticz is updated, I use a special update script that takes care of this automatically.

HI,

I just received new PST02-A 4in1 sensor from local store. I am trying to pair this with my latest domoticz beta V3.792 & domoticz latest stable and Aeotec Z-Stic Gen5 (white). Using stock xml files from beta/stable version I am able to see all 4 sensors:
- Door/Window magnet sensor
- PIR
- Temperature
- Lux

However as per default settings temperature and lux are only updated by PIR/magnet trigger event and are being reported for around 1h after it, then they just stop reporting and appearing as RED sensors in Domoticz (not updated). My concept is to have this node reporting every 10 min what is the LUX and temperature in the corridor. To do this I am trying to adjust Wake Option but it is almost impossible. Each time (using even Control Panel inside Hardware tab) sensor goes to sleep mode. Only If I press 4x tamper sensor it flashes and updating logging in Control Panel but at the same time it is overriding my settings in Control Panel back to the old one. Anyone experienced similar problem like I have? It is really cool sensor but very hard to proper configure in Control Panel or I am doing something wrong.

Yep, pressing the tamper sensor button is how I got mine to update Z-Wave settings from Domoticz.

To do what you want I would think its just a case of changing the settings below to what you want:

Note the minimum time is 30 minutes which would be specified as 1 tick.

I've had half a dozen of these sensors running for years and never once changed a battery but thats just with normal motion detection reporting. What your wanting to do with such a low interval, you might be better to consider a powered "usb" for example sensor due to the increased power requirements and significant impact on the sensors battery life.

Hello Ben,

Thank you for the information. This sensor is still "mystery" for me Programming MySensor Arduino is simpler at first glance than configuring it in Control Panel

So, in my case I would like to try with the following scenario:
Window / Door magnet sensor + PIR update only to Domoticz once it will detect something.
Temperature + Lux sensor statistic to be reported to Domoticz every 10 minutes.

Is this possible on this sensor? If yes could you please help me what values to setup? I only changed PIR to be more sensitive (from 90 to 97) and reporting in Celsius.

Hi Ben,

The attached xml config works for the TKB Home TSP01 3 in 1 PIR Motion Sensor. I've used the xml file of the Philio PST02-A 4 in 1 Multi-Sensor and added extra CommandClass id's (trail and error method ). I hope that this xml config file also works for the Philio PST02-A 4 in 1 Multi-Sensor.
