What Motion sensor pet immune?

Post by Francis80 »

I need to buy some motion sensors with pet immune feature because I will install them around my home where my little dog walk around.
I would like to avoid to receiving false positive signals.
Further I would like easy install them in domoticz.
What do you suggest me to buy?

I solve this by using a combination of height and adjusting the motion sensor sensitivity.

For instance I use the TKB 4 in 1 sensors:

I usually set these to 30% sensitivity which means I have to be fairly close to the sensor for it to go off and it has to detect a lot of motion.

Most Z-Wave sensors I've seen allow adjusting the sensitivity.

Be aware that Z-Wave has different frequencies around the world, that link I posted is for an Australia / New Zealand model.

Thanks for quick reply.
Is it easy to handle that sensor (PST02-1B) in Domoticz?
I found out the configuration file
I'm going to install domoticz in my Raspberry Pi 3 and to communicate with Aeotec USB Z-Stick S5 ZW090-C

Thanks
Francesco

I have been using half a dozen of these sensors in my home now for years and still haven't replaced the battery a single time!

They work well but you "might" have to apply the solution I posted here if you have any trouble getting them running.

Oh wait, you linked the Phillio 3 in 1, that one should work fine.

The solution I posted for is the 4 in 1.

I have been using the home easy ones - these I don't think are per friendly, and have had issues with the sun setting them off. I have however just started using a couple of Phillips hue ones. I think they are only supported on the beta at the moment, but so far these have been brilliant, and you also get temperature and lux level displayed. They are apparently pet friendly too. I can't vouch for this though are we only have pet rats :)

You would have to have the hue bridge though. I already use the lights which is why I tried out the sensors.
running domoticz 3.4834 on rpi2, with
Hue bridge / bulbs.
lightwave rf sockets, mood controlers, sensors & contacts.
Home bridge / Siri.
Ha bridge / echo Alexa.
Hard wired alarm system - setting home / away status.
