Domoticz Black Box

Post by emme »

Ciao,

Once Domoticz is running in a "production" environment by which I assume it has a good ocntrol of your home (in terms of lights... shades, security and any other stuff), it runs and collect a wide range of data.

Why can't we turn it into a sort of home balck box?

An application (included or external) that can walkthrough the logs and shows you what happened within a range of time.
a sort of movie of your home... viewable on a map or as lights of your selected switches and sensors...

An example... a thief gets into my home... so it is supposed to break my door, or came through the balcoly...
the first sensor is the reed on the door... then... where he goes first?

maybe in the kitchen or straight to the bedroom? my PIRs can show them.... and even the lights command can allow me to understand...

that's ony a scenario.. but it can be applied to almost any need

is this a bad idea?
I'm not a real programmer so I don't know how to handle it.. :P
ciao
M

Sorry, but isn't that in the logs? What else would you need?

I can beg for this!!!
On Home Assistant (https://home-assistant.io/) there is a history tab that do exactly the required visual logging.
I think it is a WOW feature that will put domoticz on productive environments. Hope someone to code it! 8-)

Log is not 'visual'

A graphical reproduction would be much more reliable :P

just wanted to support the thread, it looks awesome on home assistant.
They are really putting quite some effort in some "fancy" features, and it puts a smile on your face when you see it.
However lua is easier for me then reeealy long config yaml files...
