Using both RFXCom and KaKu-remote

Post by Hobbybob »

First off: I am relatively new to Domoticz, so if I am asking the obvious please tell me where I find the answer so I can go looking there with any new questions first :)

I have experimented (= clicking around) for about a week now, and I have decided on the RFXCom RFXtrx433E for communication with my already installed KlikAanKlikUit-hardware.

From what I've read everybody installs the RFXCom and then "learns" the KAKU-units on this signal, but is it also possible to let the RFXCom (or Domoticz) how to turn certain groups "on" or "off"?

The reason being is that I have my light already seperated in 2 groups on the remote, and I would like to be able to also use the remote when Domoticz is controlling them, so when I want to override a switch or my Synology crashes I can dot that with my remote. Also, I have a KaKu wireless doorbell and I don't think I can get that in learning-mode, so Domoticz would have to learn that.

Is this possible?

You can use the learn light/switch button in the lights tab. Domoticz will listen, press the remote and if successful you will see a new device creation pop-up.

I believe my RFXCOM found the remote like any other KAKU device, make sure you check the setting to "accept new hardware/sensors" if you haven't done that already.

My experience is that people outside don't hear the kaku ding-dong very well, so i am acually about to change my setup, back to using the old 9VAC doorbell again. Then using a paralel power circuit and relay on the old bell so i can also use the remote. Since my RPI is in the same area i am thinking about connecting to GPIO as well... that way i don't need to handle the remote in domoticz anymore. Currently waiting for the parts to arrive...

I have a kind of simular issue with the combination KAKU AWST-8800 to switch my kitchenlights but those light are also switched on and of with a regular timer. When I simply push ‘ON’ I can set the kitchen lights on but if the timer switches the kitchen light off this doesn’t work as the AWST 8800 is still on.
I found a script which should work according the person that created it. Although I owe a KAKU wall switch IMHO this should work too. Unfortunately it isn’t. As I defenitely aren’t a developer I really would’t know how to fix this although I already play with Domoticz during several years but I’m still a novice as the basic stuff I use work properly. Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing that happens is that ‘schakelaar 1’, which is the AWST-88 toggles on and off. The kitchen lights stay off.
