New Electric Instalation

Post by Thomasdc »

Hi!

I am wondering what is the best way to go in a new house, or when you want to renew the electrical cabinet.

in both situations all the cables (push-switches from in the walls and lights go to the cabinet)

so i want to get away from the principle from "impuls relais/ teleruptors "

what is the best way to go from here with an domoticz setup?
wich hardware is best for this? so to 'replace ' the impuls relais..

I was thinkink KNX? but it is very expencieve, i would need to buy the software wich is also very expencieve to configure the KNX devices? and i dont kow if its easy to integrate it with Domoticz.

the benefit of KNX is that it is future-proof i think?

If you want to be future-proof, please create CAT6 cables EVERYWHERE in your house and make a patch-panel at a central location. This way you can do whatever you want, because the cables are already there and you simply have to create some GPIO relais.

Very nice everthing in the direction to the cabinet. You can use relay boards in the cabinet. You can think of an RPI with multiple (up to four) pifaces to control the relays via Domoticz.

ive had some experience with Domoticz and RPI for some time now.. and i like the way its working for outputs
(GPIO and relays works verry well)

But for inputs i dont know what to use.. the gpio for inputs.. well in my experience its not all that, and when you look on the forum.. im not the only one.. and i gues a 'UniPi' board would have the same issue...

so the question is.. what should i use for inputs?
i want WIRED sollutions i know RFX and Z wave works great.. but this is all wireless i want to look for wired solutions.

I saw a video lately (The dutch people saw it probably also on "tweakers" : https://tweakers.net/video/14727/het-sl ... femme.html (its in dutch!)

and i like the idea of a "plc" with inputs and outputs.. but with "domoticz" as controllor
is there something like this that works with domoticz? i am looking to for the best way to connect wired inputs to domoticz.
