Recommended SXGA monitor vs current SVGA monitor

Post by cazlhewitt »

Hi,

I am considering installing Domoticz on Linux using an old PC and monitor I have.
Having read the hardware requirements it recommends using an SXGA monitor as it's resolution is 1280x1024 (ratio of 5:4).
Sadly my monitor is SVGA, a resolution of 800x600 (ratio of 4:3). :?
If I was to use my old SVGA monitor would it impact on the usability and visibility of the software? :?:

Many thanks!

They only way to find out is to install it and play with it! :-) And see how it looks and feels on that monitor.

Luckily, you are not bound by the monitor attached to the old pc. My domoticz is on a pc (pi zero) which has no monitor. This because the web interface is accessible from any of your other devices (like tablets, smartphones,etc..) on your local network (and beyond if configured correctly), whose screens probably have a better resolution.

Have fun!
