Re: Domoticz app 2.0

Post by K0enH »

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and topic since I recently set-up my RPI with domoticz.
I also bought the full version of the android app for domoticz but unfortunately the geofencing is not working.
When setting up I can select the location but then it keeps on complaining that it doesnt have the permissions to use my location services on my android.
I've given the app all the possible rights but even that doesnt help.
Is this a issue which is know or is there any option to enable this correctly?
at this moment the full edition is not having any added value for me :(

Regards,
Koen

it is possible, to make more Widgets with different Sizes?
On my Tablet, these are too small an not readable.

Sincerely

The widgets are resizable.. just long tab them and resize them (depends on the launcher also btw!)

I bought some NFC tags, my phone and also domoticz sees the NFC tag correctly, so I can configure them correctly, but it doesn't perform the corresponding action when I hold the tag to the phone? Does somebody have the same problem? Anyone knows how to fix it? I think its a bug or somesort :)
Did you follow these instructions?
Late response.. But awesome it works now :) The nfc tag was also not formatted, followed the instructions afterwards :)

Geofencing

Post by Pixal »

This week, I finally did it, replaced my Iphone 5s for a Samsung S7. Always used the iOS Pilot app for geofencing and it had a 99.9% accuracy. It only happened a couple of times in more than a year that it didn't properly leave or enter.

Now with the Android app, it doesn't really work that well (yet). This morning when I left my house, I was happy that the app said "left" but when I checked my server, the dummy switch had not changed to the off posisiton. I know a lot about this is already discussed and I just started reading through this topic but if there are best practices to check, it might be nice if it popped up in the app when configuring it.

I have my radius on 500 meter by the way and GPS is set to high accuracy. And I just signed up for the Beta app hoping it's already enhanced.

Edit:

I checked the geofencing settings and when I apply, it says: Permission Denied These location permissions are needed for Geofencing and to get the Wifi SSID's around you!

I can "Cancel" and "Request Again" but when I choose Request again, nothing happens.

This is exactly the same as the issue I mentioned. I also keep getting the issue with the permissions....

My widgets are also a bit wonky after updating from stable to beta today.

About the geofencing, it seems to toggle the switch _sometimes_ but the app accurately mentions that I enter or leave in all cases. To me this looks like the app can't connect to the server, or the timeout is too quick and the switch is not changed. I know the iOS app builder made a change once where the app tries to set your switch a couple of times in case of connection problems. Does the Android app try a few times before giving up?

But it isn't behave like expected. The widget is getting bigger, but font size not.
I tried different launchers and all behave like that. What launcher should i use?
