Re: How add a camera in Dashboard?
if you assign switches to the camera, and those switches are favorite, you should see a webcam icon in the widget (top right)

1. Go to the Camera Tab: Setup - More Options - Camera
2. Select the camera
3. Scroll down to 'ACTIVE DEVICES/SCENES'
4. Assign the desired switch to the camera (see screenshot below)
5. Go back to the switches tab
6. Now you see a little camera icon next to the switch

Re: How add a camera in Dashboard?
I got this to work, but I don't see the connection, as in why I need to assign the camera to a switch?
I added a virtual switch for this, but this seems more complicated than it should be.

Maybe to switch on/off the camera?Hesmink wrote:I got this to work, but I don't see the connection, as in why I need to assign the camera to a switch?

HI,
This is an old threat, but I got the same issue. I have added the camera to domoticz, added a switch to it. But I don't see any icons appearing on the switch page or on the favorites page?

In the above setup it looks like the camera emails a snapshot when opening a door.
Re: How add a camera in Dashboard?
Hi,
Just trying to get my ipcam to work.
- Ip-Cam added
- Switch connected
- Notification and emailing a picture works
But now I want to have a popup/screen or something on my pc-monitor with the same picture as emailed to my mobile-phone.
When I push on the 'webcam' at the switch the popup will shown... but I want the picture to show when the sensor goes to on....
I hope you understand my problem. How can I solve this.

Re: How add a camera in Dashboard?
Hi.
I can't really see the point of adding a switch to the camera in the camera menu.
What is the purpose of it?
Send a snapshot to email is done by creating an event. Why I have to add the switch in the camera menu? What can it do?
Hmm. Thx for enlightening me
Ed

Yes, this doesn't make any sense at all to me either. It's very cumbersome and unintuitive. Are there any plans to implement the camera directly in dashboard, i.e. without an unwanted switch and directly showing a small preview?
This would greatly improve an otherwise already great setup

I have to say this would be the best upgrade we could expect to have Domoticz for the next update... Do you have any alternative to have a nice dashboard ? Cheers ! (b)

Re: How add a camera in Dashboard?
Yeah that would be nice.
I added the switch which turns on the camera.
Now i receive mail, but camera is still turning on.
I added the virtual switch which turns on when camara pings.
Now i receive again an email, with picture if i select send picture as atachment in gmail.
But i don't want email this way.
I just did this so i have the camara on the switch to get easy access to the stream.
I should be modified.
I hope it can be added in an extra tab "Camera's".
I also made an custom htmlpage in domoticz\www\templates

Re: How add a camera in Dashboard?
yes I think the camera management is not perfect in domoticz but I'm sure Gizmocus is preparing something to fix this. Thrust me : Domoticz will be the best tool for domotic on the market ! TO achieve this goal dev just need help : our feedbacks.

Re: How add a camera in Dashboard?
How do I include a camera ip in domoticz, I'm trying to include a Panasonic IP camera BV-104W and I can not.
I already tried all the addresses of this tutorial:
https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Camera_Setup
I can access the camera normally through the browser by typing the IP / port. Example: http://192.168.1.10:9989/
Camera Model: https://security.panasonic.com/pt/products/bl-vp104w/
I tested all the image formats of the Panasonic BL-VP104w on the domoticz of this link and I could not:
http://www.ispyconnect.com/man.aspx?n=panasonic
Anyone have any idea what it might be?
