Aeotec ZW090 Stick as a device

I would like to check the state of the whole system. If there are any faults on the sensor or on the zwave stick, I would like to shut down the system and reboot it. But I don't get it, how I can use the zwave stick as a device. I only find the stick in the hardware, but when I go to devices, there's no stick. Is the stick only in the hardware folder? And is it possible to acces the stick from the lua script?
