When you send a message with Pushover it's send by default to all devices. It's also possible to only send a message to one or more specific devices.
I am using LUA code for that, see http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic ... 821#p47296.

Ah that's great. Switching the screen on an off with the pushover tasker plugin works great. I will see if I can use lua also to only send the message to the tablet.

I really like this functionality. Does anyone know of this is possible on a Windows tablet aswell? I searched the internet but I can't find a thing really.

I assume this could be somehow possible with Eventghost installed on your Windows tablet.Skorpion wrote:I really like this functionality. Does anyone know of this is possible on a Windows tablet aswell? I searched the internet but I can't find a thing really.
Have not tried it myself as i don't have a Windows tablet, but i use Eventghost on my Windows pc.
(i use AutoRemote+Eventghost for several automation scenarios for my Android tablet/Android phone/Raspberry Pi/Windows pc)

Re: Turn screen Android tablet off when sleep/not home
Thanks for your reply!
I decided to use an Anroid rom on my windows tablet. I tried YouWAVE, but that wasn't working very well on my tablet. I've tested BlueStacks on PC but that wouldn't even install on my tablet because of it's specs. I will look into installing Android on this tablet, and if that doesn't work. I will probably end up buying another cheap tablet but with Android.

Just the webpage of Domoticz, opened in Google Chrome (Android) and then used the 'Add to homescreen' option.
I am not active on this forum anymore.

Re: Turn screen Android tablet off when sleep/not home
Having a tablet on the wall is something im interested in.
I will be doing the following to turn the screen on and off.
Mysensors motion sensor and a relay between the power plug.
So my tablet will turn off after 5 mins of inactivity, but when motion is detected, cycle the power off then back on to the tablet.
Just an idea for anyone wanting to do it in hardware

sounds like a great idea, but i think its better to use tasker so you dont need the switch to turn off the power to the tablet, but your idea is alot easier than the tasker version.mongoose wrote:Having a tablet on the wall is something im interested in.

You could for instance use pushbullet for sending push messages, and integrate it with tasker using app push tasker (see here on how to: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... sker&hl=nl)tjabas wrote:interesting thread.

However, pushbullet for me was not very reliable. Sometimes it took hours for a message to come trough, or it didn't come trough at all.. Resulting in that my tablet stayed off (=wife not happy).
Since yesterday i'm using Tasker Network Event Server. For now, seems really reliable!
You can do a get/post request to a certain url (i'm using lua), the event that is triggered you can filter on in tasker and preform your desired actions.

Another aproach would be activating adb over wifi in the tablet and send ADB commands. For example "adb shell input keyevent 26" emulates pressing the power button on your tablet, so it toggles the screen On/off

Re: Turn screen Android tablet off when sleeping
@ThinkPad, can you help me out? I have my tablet with Dashticz turn on automatically with the app 'motion detector' and 'Turn Screen On'. However, this doesn't work in total darkness. In the same room I have a PIR sensor.ThinkPad wrote:I just edited my post, see above you
Turning screen off (locking) is now working. However, once locked i cannot get it to turn on/unlock again. That action is not available on my device according to Tasker.
Oh and a second task i have created is to control the screen brightness. As far as i know my tablet doesn't have a light intensity sensor. So i retrieve the value of the ABST-604 dusk/dawn sensor connected to domoticz.
If sensor = on = dark = screen brightness little bit lower
If sensor = off = light = screen brightness little bit higher
Will post some screenshots tomorrow, now time to sleep. Didn't have much sleep previous night due to new year's eve
I am now able to set a Domoticz switch when the 'motion detector' has detected motion with help of the tablet camera, but I have no clue how to use the PIR sensor information to turn on the tablet when it is pitch dark (the tablet camera doesn't work at that time, of course).
How did you solve it with Tasker on the tablet to turn on the screen? I have seen documentation how to turn on the screen using Tasker with the camera. I need to replace that part of the 'camera' with a Domoticz switch information. I need to somehow send a push notification or another type of 'kick' to alert the tablet.
