A have a number of computers and I would like to have on/wake buttons on my dashboard that at the same time show if the computer is actually on.
First I added a number of WOL devices and used a little script on a always on computer to ping the computers and switch the WOL device on/off if the pinger detects if the computer is on/off. This works very well so the WOL devices show the state of the computer (on/off) and clicking on the WOL devices switches the computer on.
But Domoticz also contains a pinger so I try to use the Domoticz pinger
Simplest would be to make the WOL device a slave of the pinger so the wol turns on/of with the pinger seeing the computer.
or should I make the pinger a slave of the WOL device?
And how to make one computer (a server) wake when one of multiple other computers is awake? Can't use slave device here (I don't know if a slave to multiple is an "and" or "or", or is the slave an outgoing relation?
Currently I have a small script on the always on computer that pings the relevant computers and wakes the server if at least one of the relevant computers is awake

Re: problem when combining WOL and Ping
As usual its good to answer your own questions.
First create the WOL devices
Then add the pingers into the ping HW device and then add the pingers as a active device. Select "slave device" when adding the device and specify the corresponding WOL device. The pingers are not visible now so they don't clutter the dashboard
Works like charm!

Doing what you said does not achieve the following:
Could you elaborate a bit?
Thanks
I only get WoL button, but no on/off status of the monitored host.have on/wake buttons on my dashboard that at the same time show if the computer is actually on
Could you elaborate a bit?
Thanks

Re: [SOLVED] problem when combining WOL and Ping
Figured it out on my own
Needed to change "Switch Type" to "On/Off" instead of "Push On Button" which is default for Wake-On-Lan devices
Cheers
