Milight White led strips

Post by ricorico94 »

Hi,

I've just added a NRF2401 to my RFLink with the hope to control a white led strip.
I have this Milight driver:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1x-Mili ... 70854.html

and since my led strip has only 1 color, I only connected one of the 2 circuits to the led strip. (Is it what I should do ?)

On Domoticz and RFLink sides, I updated to the very latest Domoticz version 3.5921 (beta) and RFLink in version r44.
When I checked on my PC the RFLink, I could see the following:
20;00;Nodo RadioFrequencyLink - RFLink Gateway V1.1 - R44;
10;version;
20;01;VER=1.1;REV=44;BUILD=08;
10;status;
20;02;STATUS;setRF433=ON;setNodoNRF=OFF;setMilight=OFF;setLivingColors=OFF;setAnsluta=OFF;setGPIO=OFF;setBLE=OFF;setMysensors=OFF;
10;setMilight=on;
20;00;Nodo RadioFrequencyLink - RFLink Gateway V1.1 - R44;
20;01;MiLight=ON;
20;04;MiLightv1;ID=5A3878;SWITCH=01;RGB=0000;CMD=ON;
20;05;MiLightv1;ID=5A3878;SWITCH=01;RGB=0000;CMD=OFF;
In Domoticz, I activated the discovery of new devices, I pushed the buttons of my remote (the one on link above), and Domoticz added new Milight devices.
The first surprise is that they are labeled "RGB".
Then I went to Devices and I edited it into a Dimmer.
Now, I face issues..
First, I don't know how to use that RGB dimmer to control easily my single color led strip: it's very difficult to recover full strength lighting. Modifying only the luminosity does not seem reliable.
The other issue, is that it seems Domoticz does not record the "ON" orders sent by the remote, despite the log file seems recognizing it ("2016-11-15 20:57:12.235 (RFLink) Lighting Limitless/Applamp (MiLightv1)" and it was when I pushed the ON of the physical remote).

Any idea ? Is it because RFLink does not handle single color devices ? Or did I do anything wrong ?

Al seem to be connected correctly. So pressing the remote button 'on' is not always recognised by the domoticz 'switch'? But the led strip switches on of course? Can you control the light with the device in domoticz as well? Unfortunately I only have rgbww strips so not able to reproduce your findings hence the additional questions :) to try to understand what might be wrong. I just moved to R45 and need to go through my issues list. By reading the forum I already learned some of them are closed. Already. Still have to test though :)

br,

about the luminosity. Try and play with it a bit. Running on a nrf24 aswell my working dimmer values are between 15 and 94% . No response at all outside those ranges.
