request for retry on ping funtion

it would be nice to have the possibility to have a "nr of retry" in the "Ping System Alive checker"
Reason, I use it to activate my alarm system: No Phone in the house, switches the alarm system on.
Problem is especially if you are using the "Ping System Alive checker" for IPhones of iPads,
These Apple devices are not always pingable, they are going asleep every couple of minutes.
If it's possible to have a "nr of retries" option in the specific ping-device, it would be verry nice.
At the moment I do the ping check for the iPhones with a simple unix script
