Smoke sensor devices

Post by u01pei »

I have just added 3 Fibaro smoke sensors (FGSS-001).
When I look in the device list I can see several devices per smoke sensor:
- smoke
- temperature
- alarm type
- alarm level
- general (also seen als unknown)

As for the first two devices: no problem adding them.
As for the last 3 devices: Does anyone know what they are for? as what type of device can they be added?

Also one more question about the smoke detector:
When it detects smoke, what state does it get? (i.e. ON, PANIC, etc)
I want to create an event using the smoke detector state, but currently there is no way of knowing if it will work, because of the unknown state.

Hi,
Could you simulate smoke by putting the FGSS near the toaster and overcooking a little :D - please take care of course!

Else you can get smoke detector testers like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aero-Smoke-Dete ... B006WOAZJ4

Cheers

Try first to exclude them!!!!!

And then wait a time.
And then include.

And make sure the sripts are turning off in the setings..

In my system the FGSS appears as follows:

00328 General (no obvious function)
00329 Smoke Alarm
0032c Heat Alarm
00332 Tamper Alarm
00333 Alarm Type (no obvious function)
769 Temperature (TFA 30.133)

In my case I have alarm indicators assigned to 329, 32c and I do not bother with the tamper switch, but it is functional. I read out temperature continuously using the thermometer device.

I cannot explain the two extra functions. I do know however that the sensor contains a black-box recorder, and also that it carries out a self-test regularly. It is possible that the extra devices are linked to these functions.

On a practical note, I have found a few issues with false triggers if the smoke alarm sensitivity is set to "high": possibly due to condensation or dust? I therefore set to medium, and I note that a "conventional" smoke sensor is much more sensitive to kitchen vapours! I have also set teh temperature alarm trip point a bit lower than 54C - somewhere near 40C is probably adequate in a cooler country but this may violate local codes. Test using a hair drier...

Same for me: the first five numbers is the device number.
I have:

Smoke 1
0000428: General (Tamper)
0000429: Smoke
000042C: Heat
0000432: Alarm level
0000432: Alarm type

Smoke 2
0000528: General (Tamper)
0000529: Smoke
000052C: Heat
0000532: Alarm level
0000532: Alarm type

Smoke 3
0000628: General (Tamper)
0000629: Smoke
000062C: Heat
0000632: Alarm level
0000632: Alarm type

Anyone managed to track/log smoke level data in Domoticz?

Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
Now setup on a RPI3.
Also using Evohome HGI80, RFXTRX433E and a Aeotec Gen5 stick. Mainly a Gen5 Z-Wave system.
My weather (Davis vantage Pro2) data is obtained by weatherunderground
Now collecting rtl_433 data from Apollo Ultrasonic meter

Yeah that's pretty much it. I was soo hoping to get smoke levels graphed (handy with a log burner in the house!). But Domoticz doesn't do any more than you already mentioned, just use the output as on/off sensors (apart from temp).

When i added my smoke detectors, the temperature didn't come through straight away, that was eventually recognised a few hours later, and maybe even a Domoticz reboot helped too.

How did you manage to have the temperature?

It seems like mine (FGSD-002 likes to create crazy stuff:

00000633 Alarm Type
00000632 Alarm Level
00000629 Smoke
0000062C Heat Light/Switch
00000635 Burglar
00000636 Power Management
00000637 System
00000628 General
00000600 Sensor

They are all of type Light/Switch

@gooxbe Temperature device has some delay in being added to domoticz. Sometime it can takes a day and then it magically appears in the devices list! That is when you have enabled "allow new hardware" offcourse
Hardware
1x Raspberry Pi
1x Razberry Z-Wave
1x RFXtrx433E
1x Toon
1x GoodWe Solarpanels
2x FGSD-002 Smoke Detector
1x FGBS-001 Binaire Sensor (RFID lezer)
7x FGMS-001 Motion Sensor
3x ZW089 Verzonken Deursensor
7x NC Wallplug
&lots of KaKu stuff

I got the same Problem. Added 3 Fibaro FGSD-002 to domoticz. The last got a Temperature device, the other ones not.
Where do i have to enable "allow new hardware"?

A reboot of domoticz usually brings the temperature device up.
Allow new hardware is in the settings screen

Patience ;)
Allow new hardware must be active, and not just for 5 minutes.
The temperature will arrive after it's changed and depending on the parameters 20-21.

Okay. Got the second one, one still missing.
Should i wait or exclude and include the missing smoke device?

Wake it by either a triple click or a long push until led is wite and confirm with short push.
Or maybe force temp change by going outside or something.
If nothing is succesfull you could indeed ex-/include.

Forcing the temp change. I put the sensor outside for an hour.
