You're suggestion worked. Maybe a good idea to mention this in the wiki.
Secondly I discovered that the NAS does not allow to write to a directory that is not created before running this script (see below)

I implemented the Domoticz_backup.sh script according the Wiki (Daily backup to external hdd) with the only changes made in IP numbers and user name and password.

Thanks for your quick respons. I would love to do so, as it works fine this way in my Windows test environment.
But as stated my post I am running the advised Raspberry SD image V2. 3530 that does not have this option.
As I can see you are running an other version and I don't have a clue ...

As a newbee on this forum I first of all like to thank everybody working on Domoticz for the great job there doing.
