If you feel comfortable with using docker you can run everything in a docker container (also latest stable Domoticz 2025.2 on your Ubuntu 22)

Re: Advice on which controller to buy, Zigbee software, etc
There are 2 versions (se my original post) any opinions? Also, can the be used right out of the box or do I need to flash another firmware?waltervl wrote: Sunday 02 November 2025 22:38 Whatever is supported by the zigbee2mqtt or zigbee4domoticz hardware gateways. The Sonoff USB zigbee 3.0 sticks are very popular and reliable.

Re: Advice on which controller to buy, Zigbee software, etc
My advise:
use a SLZB-06 https://smlight.tech/product/slzb-06
with Zigbee2MQTT in Docker
Can you expand more?
1. this adaptor is 2X the price of a Sonoff.
2. I've been using Linux for decades and never had to install Docker. Can you educate me as to the advantages of installing it? What do ...

Advice on which controller to buy, Zigbee software, etc
I've decided to give Zigbee a try, so I'm a total newbie on this front. I run Domoticz 2025.1 (2025-05-05: ditched the upgrade because of new requirements on my Limux box) on Ubuntu 22.04.5 LTS.

Easiest path to add temperature sensors/monitors
Hi
Last time I added temperature sensors, I did this through a mysensors gateway and sensebender Arduino-like little gizmos (https://www.mysensors.org/hardware/micro). This stuff has been running on Domoticz on a Linux machine for years. Fast forward several years and I'd like to add more, but I ...

Integration of Radoneye RD200 radon sensor with Domoticz
I managed to integrate this sensor with Domoticz using a combination of Linux scripts, and json calls. If anyone is interested, ping me and I can write down what I did.

Cheaper WiFi Wall plug options?
There are a number of cheaper WiFi wall sockets available in the market now (I saw some in Amazon for as low as $9!). Brands like Tantan, gosund, etc. They are probably all very similar and made in China.

Re: Interface to x10 power line and RF interface
Thanks folks for your answers. Your solutions require buying new hardware (from rfxcom) and I was trying to avoid that. For that money, I could build some simple mysensors door switches! I already have a working 310MHz receiver on the server, the W800RF32A, so I ma trying to stay on the cheap.

Interface to x10 power line and RF interface
HI folks,
I know, you'll tell me to trash all that x10 hardware and start fresh...
I am pretty new to Domoticz, it's now running with just a few new sensors. I have other hardware that has been running on x10 for many years and I'd like to see if there is a way to interface it to Domoticz. Most ...
