how to use a remote control device

Post by Twan »

I guess, I am not so smart. As I can't figure it out.

I have now two remote control zwave devices, but can not get to work either one of them.
1)aeon minimote
2)NodOn CRC-3-1-00 Octan Remote

I can add them into the system very easily. But that is as far as I am able to get with them.

How can I use them to turn on or off a scene.
At the edit of a scene, I try to add them as a turn on device, but none of the button pushes are recognized.

At this moment I have given up on the minimote, as I can not get that 150 setting (i think it is that number) to switch, which is essential apparently.
So at this moment I want to be able to turn the one group I currently have on and off from the remote device, but not getting it done at all.

please help this ignorant man.

grtz,
Twan

Hi Twan,
You have to know that Central Scenes are not supported by DomoticZ.

You should change your Octan remote in Activation Scene by setting parameter 3 to value 1.

It should work after that.

Regards.

hello, what are exactly central scenes?

I can activate scenes via the OCTAN Remote. I use the remote to control, for instance, one click executes scene a, double click scene b, and so on.

I go to domoticz scenes, set up my scene, then click on Activation Devices - add decives and i get a differente device base on the combination of button clicks (up to 16)

What are then exactly then a Central Scene?

Hi Nizaga,

Central Scene is a specific mode created by Zwave for remote controllers. It makes it easier for gateways manufacturers to support new devices but it is not yet supported by all gateways.

But why is the nodon working on domoticz (you can execute scenes) if domoticz does not support yet central scenes (i underdand this comes in 1.6)? What is the difference? Thanks

NodOn remotes are supporting Activation Scenes (by changing parameter 3 to value 1) and can work as any other Zwave device ;-)
