Accessing the double press function in ZME switch

Hi everyone, I need some help.
I've included a Zwave.me ZME_5457 switch. It's working in the sense that it is recognized, configurable, and I can RF the switch on/off. No problems there.
However, I cannot get the double or long-press functions to work. Whatever I try, they don't show up in Domoticz as a switch, and I cannot add them through the learn function either.
I think I have tried everything, configured the ZME setup in every possible way --I believe-- but to no avail.
Does anyone know the trick to access these functions, such that I can use e.g. a double click on the ZME to switch a HUE bulb in any room on/off, or better even to control the dimming of such a bulb?

EDIT: Solved - in hardware, the switch buttons must be configured to send scenes.
