RFXcom error message

Post by DirkGG »

Hello,

I'm a complete newbie to all this domoticz stuff, though I'm liking it so far. Brings back my linux-itch. *

I recently bought a starterset from sos solutions, including a pi 2b, micro sdhc card with domoticz pre-installed, power cable and the rfxcom trx433E tranceiver. As stated in the product description, the whole thing was indeed plug and play. Once up and running I updated raspbian and domoticz to it's latest versions and flashed the RFXcom firmware to version 250.

So far so good. I'm using KAKU receivers to do some simple light switching with a couple of timers (I'm finding the 'sunset' option pretty useful in particular).

Up until a few days ago the lights stopped switching on. Trying to switch the lights via domoticz also did not work. I thought perhaps that the pi had crashed, but no, it was running fine (accessed through SSH). After a reboot everything works as it should. So, I left the log running for a while and noticed these error messages popping up;

Code: Select all

2016-01-08 22:02:01.953 RFXCOM: Serial Worker stopped...
2016-01-08 22:02:02.969 RFXCOM: Using serial port: /dev/ttyUSB0
Can I assume correctly that the RFXcom tranceiver just crashed and is unable to restart? Is this hardware or software related? Probably more important, is there a way to fix it?

I just reinstalled Domoticz. Everything seems to be in order now. I'll report back in a few hours.

No errors so far. The RFXCOM tranceiver even picked up a local temperature meter. I reckon the pre-installed version of Domoticz on the sos solutions sdcard was broken.

Thank you for your attention. Case closed.
