Domoticz + scripts on Synology, drive spindown?

First off let me thank all you guys for the great work you do on Domoticz! With no experience in SSH and little experience in using command line systems I jumped in and started playing with Domoticz and so far I love it. I've decided to install Domoticz on my Microserver Gen8 running DSM 5.1 as to not have more hardware running all day. I won't lie, I think I've spent the better part of 8 hours getting the wifi presence script to work (you can laugh about this, I am
).
I plan on writing a tutorial on how I installed it so others with just as little experience are able to install it without spending as much time as I did.
Now to my question: I have it running on my homeserver with a cron job set to starting the script every 10 minutes (as the tutorial described). However I'm guessing this will prevent the DSM from spinning down my drives. Am I right in thinking this?
If so, what would be a good solution? Would installing a small SSD for these types of tasks be a solution?
Thanks in advance for your reply!
