Hi,
I`m looking for how to build wall switches with feedback. I planning to make a wall switch with ESP8266, current sensor and contact. Is it possible to integrate switch label that i can show on it real status from input on ESP8266 and value from current sensor?
I d like to show on label like in attachment current value and real status of lamp - when i press wall switch, then contact will close. If light bulb is ok then current will flow and give a signal than load is ok.
Like is on fibaro dimmer, that is show power consumption and status on one icon/label.

Re: Virtual switches with feedback
I am also planning making a dimmer myself.
I think all your asking should be possible. I think that it is not possible to show the current in the same device currently. Maybe it is possible to create a widget for the Flat-Z frontpage which will include both in one sensor... viewtopic.php?f=8&t=8017
Are you planning to make a switch or an actual dimmer?
How are you planning to do the power measurement?
- RMS using a true RMS converter or using a uC which actually calculates the power using a current measurement?
- Are you planning to measure blind currents as well?

Re: Virtual switches with feedback
First of all i try to find if it is possible to edit domoticz on/off icon. I d like to add on it some additional lamp which is depend on some variables. I mean when I press ON in domoticz I d like to have real feedback that light is working or not. Becouse now when You press on on the icon doesnt matter what is on another side lamp on icons goes to on.
First I d like to build a modul which is measuring the current and giving me information that light bulb is really working.
