Fibaro FGR-222 Roller Shutter 2 (new version 2.5!!)

I just received a new Fibaro FGR-222 Roller Shutter 2. The housing of the module seems to have changed a bit. The sticker is labled version 2.5.
After including it in the Z-Wave network, Domoticz (open-zwave) doesn't seem to know this specific type yet.
System Unknown type=302 id=1000
I already have a few of these FGR-222's installed but those are all versions 2.4 (or lower maybe).

So I added it to the manufacturer_specific.xml

Code: Select all

		<Product type="0301" id="1001" name="FGRM222 Roller Shutter Controller 2" config="fibaro/fgrm222.xml"/>
		<Product type="0302" id="1000" name="FGRM222 Roller Shutter Controller 2" config="fibaro/fgrm222.xml"/>
Then I stopped Domoticz and removed the unknow node from my zwcfg_0xXXXXX.xml file and started Domoticz again. Once the Z-Wave network is completely reinitialized, it is listed as a "FGRM222 Roller Shutter Controller 2". So far so good.
Settings my specific config needs and calibrating was also succesfull.

Then, when I look at the new device in the devices tab, I notice that there is a differance between the older version and this one...

The problem is that the new one doesn't say "open" or "closed" ...
not open or closed
not open or closed

Does anyone else have a version 2.5 and this same problem?

:?: I had another look. It is now listed as it should. Perhaps I did not wait long enough?

Anyway, it still needs to be added to the Openzwave. Just so you know ;)

Then you have to post it on the openzwave forum, else it will never happen ;)

I got the message that they would add it to the OpenZWave lib.

Hello,
I received today a Fibaro FGR-222 Roller Shutter 2 version 2.5 but I do not know how to modify the manufacturer_specific.xml
Proohu01, could you tell me how you did that?

Hello guys,

I have the same FGR-222 version 2.5 and I bumped into exactly the same problem of Proohu01.
I applied the same modifications to the files manufacturer_specific.xml and zwcfg_0xXXXXX.xml and now it has been detected and operates fine.

The problem I still have is the momentary/toggle switch configuration.
When operating manually via the switches, I need to put the (down) button back AND click the other button (up) to stop the movement.
The expected behaviour is that clicking the button back the initiated movement will stop (it was like that before adding FIBARO).

I thought of changing the parameter 14, switch type (see manual excerpt below) from momentary to toggle.
How can I do that in Domoticz? Should I make some changes in the fgrm222.xml file?

Any help is much appreciated.

Code: Select all

 14. Switch type
This parameter is relevant only for Roller Blind Mode and Venetian Blind Mode (parameter 10 set to 0, 1, 2).

Available settings:
0 – momentary switches
1 – toggle switches
2 – single, momentary switch (the switch should be connected to S1 terminal)
Default setting: 0
Parameter size: 1 [byte]

You can do that from within Domoticz.
Go to the hardware tab. Select you zwave controller and press "setup".
Then, locate your FGR-222 and select it. Then scrol down to option 14. Change it, apply and that is it.

Thank you so much Proohui01!
I followed your instruction and set option 14 to Toggle.
That solved my problem!

Hello,

I am going to buy this module in few days. Also do you have any news about the issue of state feedback. Do you think that this issue occurs on new FGRM-222 ?

Do you know a module more compatible for domotics ?

thanks in advance

I have another question regarding these modules:
Currently I've only installed 2 of them (v2.5 too) and have no real issues at all, except that I've put a push message in Domoticz to notify me whenever they 'move'.
The problem is that it's only able to send 'on' and 'off' message. A normal cycle includes 2x ON and 1x OFF message, and it's unclear to me how to change this. I'd like one message for every up or down movement, not 3... ;)
