Domoticz

Hi,

I live in a very crowded area and after I hooked RFLINK to Domoticz I added my own 433 Eurodomest switches by manual learning using the remote control buttons.
After a few hours I see in devices of DMZ new units with the text Unknown that are not mine form other manufacturers like Elmes, Aster and EV1527.
About 25 units of which I think are from the nearby supermarket.
So RFLINK pics up more signals.
I googled the names and they all are linked to 433 products.

If I click one of these units can I control them on and off? No intention but just for my confirmation.
If I can, then I assume if someone else is running a same system like me in a nearby area he can control my units too?

Is my thinking correct?

Yes, your thinking is correct.

That's the reason not to use Kaku (but Zwave for instance) for more critical systems (like garagedoors or may be heating pumps or so)

The 433 vloerpomp is just a temporary solution while my EASY ESP relay unit for this pump is in design mode.

Or use the Wifi ESP8266 where it is possible to do so. Not so easy to hack into as the 433 stuff. If your neighbors also happen to use Domoticz and RFlink or RFXCOM, make sure to stay friends with them

Obviously there are more secure solutions. Allthough I think zwave is much more difficult to hack compared to a wifi solution.
But when someone hacks into your wifi network, domoticz is also open and reachable.

Zwave is easier to hack than properly secured wifi with CCMP WPA2 with long password...

I cant even controll the 3 eurodomest switches i have in my own house, bought Cotech brand but comes up has eurodomest in device list. And i get a bunch, yesterday i had 250 entries of the 3 switches so clearly doing something wrong

Looks like your set is not supported yet. Check your PM to get it solved asap.
