Nexa WMR 252 and RFXCOM

Hello,

Just bought a Nexa WMR 252 to be able to dim the kitchen table light wich has a 40w traditional light source.

The problem is that when I set dim level in domoticz to 100%, the light is not at 100% but rather 93% or so. The last dim level is missing wich becomes very clear when I hit "on" again and let the dimmer cycle through all it's levels. It becomes "brighter than 100%". The only way to reach true 100% is to use the cycle way, Seems like a calibration problem of some sort but I have no idea how to calibrate it!?

Any ideas?

How does the WMR252 operate if you control it with RFXmngr?

Just tried with RFXMngr and transmitting at level 15 (highest possible) does indeed turn the light on at full 100% so this seems to be a domoticz related problem.

Also, if I set the slider under switches in domoticz to 100% (and the light turns on one level below 100%) and then hit F5 to update the webinterface the slider has reverted to 93%. This is the same from a mobile client for instance.

Is this to be considered a bug or does anyone see any other solution?

Glad you posted this as I have the same problem. I have a WMR in my closet and regardless how I tried it is sets the dim level to 93%. I ended setting the switch to ON/OFF to achieve full light.

Ok, gonna post this in the bugs part of the forum then.

Yes, it's lighting 2 (AC) as Minglarn says.

Updating.... BRB...
Seems to work! But, when the WMR is at 100% and I press ON it starts to fade in and out... Seems that I have to make an blocky event to prevent the fading...

Will try tomorrow, thanks for such a quick reply gizmocuz.

Minglarn: Isn't it supposed to behave like that?

Yes it is... did read the pdf manual and it is correct. Will do some more testing tomorrow...

Edit: Btw, did notice that Domoticz says 93% for 5 sec (when activated from OFF) and then changes it status to "ON" ..

that might be the reason why i did not set it to 100%
imagine, you have a timer, at 23:00 the light should go on
not at 22:50 you set it manually on at 100%, then when the timer starts at 23:00, it will start fading

is the step from 93% (internal level = 14) to 100% (internal level = 15) that big ?
if not, it might be best to revert the patch

Hum.... This morning when I triggered my closet motion detector my WMR started to fade. Dont know why but it has never done that before. The closet is set as a ON/OFF not dimmer.
However the light difference between 93% and 100% is quite large.

Let's see what Olleman has to say...

I'm not a programmer but wouldn't it be possible to have a logic that: If a dimmer supports "step level dimming" the "on command" should instead be "Set to level 15"

Don't know if that makes much sense?

According to the manual of the WMR 252 it will automaticly be set to 100% after 4 full diming cycles so for this particular device the problem is at least limited...

And yes, the brightness between level 14-15 (93%-100%) is quite big.

Hi Olle, could be that WMR 252 operates the same as HomeEasy switches. If you send a second "on" signal when the switch is already on, then you start a dimmer up/down cycle and when you send another "on" during the cycle, then the switch will stop dimming at that level.

Yes, it works exactly like that! However, after 4 full diming cycles and not recieving the second "ON" command the switch will stop at 100% light intensity so it wont dim up and down forever.

Olle, looks like it's the same as mine. Have some suggestions to solve it on another thread, although I have not tried it yet.

Thanks for the tip. This particular light will rarely be controlled from pc/phone etc but I will buy more of these switches so it's just a matter of time before it will be a problem for me to.

Gizmocuz: Will the fix for the 100% light be kept for future versions? You talked about going back?
