Remove failed node

Post by Egregius »

Hi all,

I have 2 failed nodes that stay in the Z-wave hardware overview and in the zwave config panel.
It's a StellaZ and a Fibaro Smoke sensor.
Because both of them are really dead they can't be excluded anymore.
I like to have them removed from the list but can't find how to do that. Already deleted it from the list in Domoticz. Tried 'have node failed' and 'remove failed node' in ozwcp.
Also removed from database and zwconfig.xml. They always keep coming back.

Now yesterday and today I had 2 exploded Qubino relays, they apeared instantly as dead in the list and can easily be removed by the 'remove failed node' command in ozwcp.

How do I mark the others as dead so they can be removed?

I do not really have a solution but overhere someting similar in my situation. But a little bit more strange. We had a indirect lightning strike a few months back and luckily only minor damage. One of my Qubino modules in the garden was not doing anything anymore so I had to replace them by new one. Al sofar straight forward. Was not able to remove the node from the list but I reconned "uh just leave it in de list".. But now the funny thing; after some time all of the sudden the old module started to show as "alive" in the list again! Also in the OZW control panel. As a result I for sure cannot remove them anymore (since in OZW it is reported as alive.) I have been reading through, via de OZW forum etc but it seams that the only way I am now able to clear my list is to reset the Aeon USB S2 and include them all over. My conclusion sofar is that there is no full control over the USB Zwave controller via OZW.. In theory with the correct interface you should be able to remove a node from a table somehow in the controller? Most likely this has to do with the fact the Zwave is Sigma propriety.. I was not able to find any answer yet..

I think hardware reset and re-include 37 devices is not a workable solution. What if another switch breaks in couple of weeks/months, do it all over again?
There must be a command to do that, I think it's just not implemented yet in Domoticz and/or Openzwave.

That is exactly my thought as well.. In general I am really happy with the situation OZW and so on but just on these aspects I am doubting about what to do. In my searches for the answerr I found a link on a forum where it was reported that efforts on the side of Eaon resulted in an non working solution. Somewhere in the controller stick there must be tables which can be editted to do such a thing like removing nodes without the include action. I assume that since OZW is reverse erningeering and not a official Sigma source kit thing I expect that this could be one of the "full control" features that is only obtained by having the Sigma source kit. I do not have 37 nodes (yet..;-) but I am definately postponing the reset action...
