Domoticz

Hi All

Firstly to say that I am new to Domotiz having been using a Vera 3 for about a year. I have to say that the Vera was one of the worst things i've used, unreliable, slow and buggy. My experience so far with Domoticz has been miles better, which is great.

I've only got to grips with the basics of what it can do I think, I understand adding devices, creating scenes etc and I have a number of zwave and lightwave devices all working together in scenes and so on.

I've tried to add my Fibaro smoke sensor to the system which seems to have worked, i have 5 devices show up under switches, one of which I have designated as a smoke sensor. But how do I use the smoke sensor to trigger a scene? This is the sort of basics that i am struggling with. For example I want to turn on all the lights in a room, which is in a scene currently, how to i use the smoke sensor as the "trigger"?

I don't know if there is more to it than i think, but i thought that would be easy to do so maybe I'm missing something or set something up wrong.

Just as a follow up to this, it seems the only (or the easier?) way to do this that I can find is to use Blockly, is that right? Also is there a way to view Blockly events on the dashboard or in another easy access way like switches and scenes?

you can use a lua script for it

But like you said you can also use a blocky event
and this is much easier!

did you find out how to do it? otherwise i want to show you an example how to trigger a scene with a switch in a blocky event

i dont understand what you want to display in your
an blocky event is just some "simple programming" --> if "that' happens, then do 'this' ..
so i dont understand what you want to display?

I have worked out how to create the blockly script for what i want and it works well.

What i meant was once i've created an Event in blocky, can I show that event on my dashboard so that i have a quick overview of all the events i have created, without having to go to setup>more options>events
