Creating Z-Wave scenes in Domoticz

Hi all.

I have started using Domoticz recently and had been using Vera previously for all my Z-Wave devices. I'm comfortable writing LUA for more complex scenes (or events) but I'm just trying to better understand the built-in Scenes tab in Domoticz.

It seems that "Scenes" in Domoticz don't allow me to specify Z-Wave device triggers and conditions as I'm used to in Vera. It will only allow me to specify one or more switches to be activated together at a pre-defined setting.

Therefore, is LUA and blocky best suited for building traditional Z-Wave "Scenes"?

Thanks.

I would say go for blocky - I have two Z-wave thermostats controlled in it (if temp >< then lower /higher the therm temp etc)
I am sure you can use LUA as well though I have only a bash script controlling a dimmer.

In Domoticz you have scenes and groups.
Scenes are selections of devices with each their own setting and a group is a scene with a 'turn off' button.

To start a scene or a group you need to trigger it with either the built in timers or a Blocky/Lua.

Thanks for the replies. I think I understand now.

Just out of curiosity though, in the scenes UI, what is the triggers section for if this should be done through blocky/LUA or inbuilt timers? When I try to add a trigger this way, it asks me to press a button on my remote. What does this mean???

That is meant for adding f.i. 433Mhz remotes to a scene (So you can acitivate the scene with a KlikAanKlikUit remote).

Not only for KlikAanKlikUit.
Also for Z-wave remotes or wallswitches.
I have a NoDon for instance and it works fine to trigger lua-script with it.
