Domoticz

Hey everyone,

We're launching a device that tackles bringing window shades into the connected and automated space without heavy modification or need to purchase new shades.

We were curious what the community thought about this and how important a planned integration with Domoticz would be.

I have been looking around for a device that can be controlled via Domoticz to automatically tilt the blinds into a correct position.
I am currently leaning towards installing servoblaster on my RPI and buying a couple of Servo's to do the job for me, but haven't fully made up my mind yet.
This link you shared looks a lot like the other Indigo/Kickstarter project called Move (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/789 ... and-shades).
Yours is somewhat more pricey and seems to have more options.
How would domotics interact with this device?

We are working on integrating Axis Gear with the Harmony hub from Logitech. Harmony is also capable of working with Domoticz and will act as a bridge to allow Domoticz to control the Axis Gear!

I guess harmony support would be nice. But this would mean you'd need a harmony hub/remote in each room you would want to control. Doesn't make sense to me at least.

z-wave is the way to go in my opinion. Your product does look nice, and I do like the manual control on it as well.

@cogliostrio We're currently exploring Z-Wave. From our understanding, the remote only needs to be within range of the Hub, and depending on which protocol you use, this will differ.

Not really when you make use of a mesh network like ZWAVE or the newer BlueTooth protocols. All you need is a repeater device within range and you can get to the controller that way.

To anyone interested, we've added Z-Wave integration as a stretch goal and also updated the page quite a bit.
Took a bunch more photos and just overall made it look more awesome.

Because a few people recommended we add Z-Wave support, I just wanted to give everyone a head's up that later tonight we're announcing Z-Wave support (no more stretch goal). Hopefully this will make an integration with Domoticz easier.
