Review of small HLK-PM01 powersupply, ideal for MySensors

On the MySensors forum they were discussing a cheap and very small power supply module, the HLK-PM01

The website 'lygte-info.dk' has made a review of the 5V DC version of this module, which can be found here: http://lygte-info.dk/review/Power%20Mai ... %20UK.html

Don't go the route of buying a cheap iPhone wallcharger and modifying that, this module seems like a better and way more safe idea.
Be warned of the notes that the reviewer mentions though:
Electronic wears down faster when warm, especially capacitors, i.e. keep it as cool as possible for long lifetime.
I would place a fuse or fusible resistor before the converter, the fuse is not supposed to be replaceable, when it blows it is time to replace the converter.
A MOV accross the mains input would probably also be a good idea.

I've bought a few of these (as mentioned in other posts) and I've been very pleased with them.
Previously I'd been pulling wall warts apart and finding the most appalling electronics inside them.

Do you have a link where you bought them? I thought there also was a 3.3V type of it, but i can't seem to find it, maybe i made the 3.3V version up in my mind :mrgreen:
Are your modules 5V or 3.3V ? If 5V, how do you power your MySensors stuff (3.3V) with it? Trough the Arduino? (5V in, DC-DC converter on Arduino spits 3.3V out)

I got mine from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-pcs-HLK-PM0 ... 3cff8e98bf
They are the 5v version, I haven't seen 3v.

I use the MYS PCB http://www.mysensors.org/hardware/mys quite a lot with a built in 3v3 regulator but if I make my own pcb I use an AMS1117 to supply the radio and keep everything else 5v.... having said that, I just picked up a bundle of 3v arduino pro minis at auction on ebay which I'll put in battery devices.

The more regular used step down converters I know how to attach to a project. Ik just solder the wires on directly to the board. Since I was looking for a more isolated version to use in a project. What is the best way to connect this to my Arduino nano. Solder the wires directly on the powersupply and use "krimpkous" (sorry i do not know the english word) to idolate the connection? Than on the other Side just connect the wire to the Arduino as normal? What do you all think?
