To me, added values are:
- Able to receive some sensors that are not supported by RFXCOM.
- Able to use AC, lightning4 type devices so I can disable these protocols in RFXCOM. Those protocols interfere with many others in RXFCOM.

Hi,

I have some items that is currently not supported i.e. blinds, weather station and about to buy a wireless salus thermostat, that is probably also not supported

Now my question is what would you need from me (or anyone else that is looking at decoding wireless signals) to be able to add the device to RFLink.

i.e. I was thinking of purchasing a logic analyzer

And try and follow a few tutorials to decode them

Not sure of my success rate.. but, is that all you would need?

Hi Larry,

As a first step:
I (or anyone else who would like to fiddle with it) would need debug data.
This can be obtained by following the explanation on this page: http://www.nemcon.nl/blog2/development
(Note: Alternatively you can use any terminal program to do the same kind of logging)

In case of temperature and alike sensors it is helpful to have some info about the actual temperature (from the base station)
For switches etc. it is helpful to know what button was pressed (up/down/stop/on/off etc)

In some cases it is really obvious what the correct debug packet is, but in other cases it might be more complex.
Note that there is no need to take the correct packet from the log.
Just log a few minutes and send the log to [email protected] with a short explanation of what device data was expected is enough.

Up to this point anyone should be able to make a short debug log and mail it in. No technical knowledge is needed.
We will then analyze the data, add it to the code and supply test versions.

A second step, trying to organize the data:
This is only needed if you want to play, know a bit about coding and how RF protocols work (or want to find out)..

An analyzer can be very helpful. For sure when after making a protocol implementation from the debug logs the transmit is failing and a switch or receiver is not responding to the transmitted signal..
In that case capturing the actual signal will make it possible to clone the signal.
I have an analyzer as well but obviously it requires access to the actual device which can be a problem.
Via [email protected] we can help you step by step with this as well as how the protocol works, sample and base code, and what (more) needs to be done.

Then one day RFlink stopped receiving data from it.
No software or firmware had been updated, and all my other RFlink devices worked correctly.
Nothing in the debug log either.
Very strange.

All of my ByronSX devices work correctly.

I guess you checked the OWL batteries?
Also, it is possible that the OWL is transmitting at the exact same timeframe as another device that is closer to rflink and due to that blocking the OWL signals. Reinserting the batteries might help.

The Owl's paired mini receiver has continued to receive correctly.
Yes, I tested the batteries.
I also brought the owl transmitter into the same room as the RFlink receiver without success.

Hi Everybody,
I am having some trouble with my RFLink (using the latest firmware 44) in domoticz (latest version also).

The RFlink seems to be working find when it comes to controlling Kaku and Elro switches that are connected to wall socket and on permanent electricity.
But my door sensors (AMST-606), pir (AWST6000) and Thermometer (TX-320) are not being detected anymore. Removing them and having domoticz discover them automatically again does not work. Domoticz does not find them. I tried with new batteries but nothing is working.

The odd thing is that I can still control the other Kaku devices through domoticz like AILS-3500 , ACD-200, some elro plugs de kaku doorbell etc.
Also the other sensors (the ones not working now) did work in the beginning.

Anybody a clue what might be going on?
