How to connect Cyble Itron pulsemeter to S0PCM?

Newbie question. How do you connect the Cyble Itron pulsemeter to the S0PCM?

One wire (brown or white) on a S0PCM port and the other one to ground?

One of the wires on the 'G' connection (Ground), and the other one to one of the inputs (1 - 5). Which one you put where doesn't matter, as it is only a 'switch' that goes from open to closed i thought.

Be sure to select the correct unit in the S0PCM setup (amount of pulses per liter/m3) under Setup > Hardware (and then 'Set mode' or so at the S0PCM). Try with filling a bucket of water and checking if the sensor in Domoticz corresponds.

Thank you for the explanation and tip to test the meter!

By the way, could you make a picture of the bottom of the device (the side that sits on top of the meter)? I am interested in how this commercial sensor works (optical sensor/magnetic field sensor).

Mine works with a magnetic field (hall) sensor. It can detect waterless in both directions, not that I produce water but it can :-).
I connected it to my pi-face and when I do not update the kernel of my RPi, it works perfect.

Is this s0pcm instantly supported bu Domoticz?

Yes, but it is not guaranteed to work on a Synology NAS, because it may lack the needed drivers (the S0PCM is a Arduino internally). 'kraades' also had that issue, but is now using the S0PCM without issues on a Raspberry Pi (where it is easier to get & install the required drivers, because the system is more open than a Synology NAS).

I'm using a Aquadis+ water meter and the Itron cyble sensor for a couple of weeks now and noticed that is pretty inaccurate. It is off by approximately 50 liters a day (more liters visible in Domoticz than actually used on the water meter). Anyone noticed the same behavior?

Do you use it with a S0PCM? The inaccuracy may come from there, i have seen complaints before on this forum about the inaccuracy of the S0PCM.
Maybe some parts can be added between the sensor & S0PCM to prevent 'noise' or something on the cables.

Yes I'm using a S0PCM. Not sure what you mean by 'adding parts'. Shielding?

I have an Actaris TD8 as well and got interested in the subject.
I understood that I need an Itron Cyble adapter (expensive) as well as a S0PCM pulse counter (also not cheap if I just use it for water metering).

Do you guys think that it will also just work with a non-latching hall sensor, like a US5881, connected to a GPIO pin (or alternatively an Arduino in between)?
Total costs: about 5 euros.

Let me know if anybody is interested in this project or better: has some experience with it.

Im also here to follow the subject

Anybody already solved the issue with the inaccuracy?

I know it is some time ago, but i have a S0PCM5 and a Cyble Itron sensor on my Aquadis water meter. I have all readings in Domoticz, but cannot understand its values. I have got a 5 new devices, the first one i am using. I do see readings like 0.0053 m3. I do see a counter of the day (T), but cannot understand its values. Can someone point me out the correct Pulse/hour setting in the Set Mode of the S0PCM and also the RFXMeter/Counter Dividers in the General Settings?

Thanks!

The issue with -a lot- of watermeter sensors is that they do NOT comply to the S0 standard. S0 describes a fixed pulse length (of officially 30ms). Water meter sensors (including DIY reed contacts and hall sensors) usually have long pulses at a low flow (possibly even an hours-long pulse when the magnet in the meter stopped just at the sensor) and short pulses at high flow.
Apart from some extremes, in firmware 0.6 you can try to configure a long (eg 100ms) pulse length in the S0PCM module to accommodate most issues.
If that does not work, you can try firmware 0.7 which accommodates variable pulse lengths (firmware 0.7 is not commonly rolled out because I do not have the experience up until now to put it on the modules by default).

To be sure that the issue is with the counting of the S0PCM (and not with Domoticz) or the other way around, I suggest you verify the actual output of the module (e.g. with cat or cu) and compare that with actual amount of water (fill a bucket with 10l a couple of times at variable flow rates and check if you get the correct number of pulses every time).

BTW. In Domoticz 4.9700 I found that the unit used for '"Water" is not fully right.
I have to say I use my S0 Datalogger to submit values to the Domoticz API.
My (S0 compliant) meter gives 1 pulse per liter. So I used '1000' for the setting in Domoticz. To my surprise, Domoticz did not count my pulses as liters, but as 10 liters. So when I actually used 10 liter, Domoticz showed 0.10m3.... I solved hat by using an incremental counter instead.....

@kraades, where did you buy the S0PCM module? and did you buy it with an usb interface?
I recently purchased the Sensus HRI at homewizard.nl. I have a raspberry Pi B+ and already using the P1 cable to read my "slimme meter"
this works great using Domoticz but since we have my bill is still a bit high (yes I should start using less energy :') ) I wanted to also log my water usages. I expected that the sensus HRI sensor to have an USB but boy what was I surprised when it had s0.

Since I do not want to start with breadboards and switchcables etc... i just want a plug and play solution.
I found a s0PCM cable at smartmeterdashboard.nl but I just want to know if I will not be surprised again and I need to buy additional hardware.

The pictures Kraades posted:
Mounted:

shows a simular setup that I was thinking about but I want to know if this will work with the above hardware.
Can anyone help me out?

Hi i’am using the cable from smartmeterwebshop and also a sensor from Homewizard.nl

In the meantime i used the recent Made project by utmachine: https://github.com/ualex73/docker-s0pcm-readerm
This is working great .

Hi all, I know this is a very old post, yet maybe some can assist.

I already owned a raspberry pi 2B and measured power over P1 cable and Solaredge over API. I wanted to add watermeasurment and although expensive I bought a cyble sensor V2. I tried getting it to work on a GPIO port but I did not get it to work. So I bought a S0PCM-5 as it should be a very easy installation but is does not give a reading ( not correct).

2021-12-10 23:52:58.421 s0pcm: RFXMeter (Unknown)

If I understood well, the cycle sensor functions as a reed contact, so it passes through voltage when it detects. But it looks like my cyble sensor is constantly passing through, so no pulse. I connected it with a 9V battery and expected to only see a 9V when metal is in front of the "sensor" ,but I have a constant 9V measurement.

Also, if I connect the Cyble sensor to a GPIO port it reads 1 when connect and 0 when disconnect.

So I think my cyble sensor is defect. Is my thinking correct, or can I test the sensor in a different way.
