How to install Domoticz on a Synology NAS

In this often "nerdy" forum it is sometimes difficult to find the right information.
Installing Doticz on a Synology NAS is very simple if you are able to find the "needles" in the haystack of this forum.
Domoticz is available as a Synology Package however not as a standard Synology package supplied in the Synology package center.
You need to extend the Package Center on your Synology NAS with third party libraries to find Domoticz.

This is done as follows:
  • 1. Login on your Synology NAS as administrator and open Package Center
    2. In Package Center click on the tab "Settings"
    3. Then select the tab "Packet Sources"
    4. Select "Add" and type in the Name field "SynoCommunity" and in the URL field "http://packages.synocommunity.com" and OK
    5. Select again "Add" to add a second library that contains the Domotics package updates
    6. Name "Domoticz Updates" and URL "http://jadahl.dscloud.me/sspks/" and OK
    7. In "Settings" now go to the first tab "General" and select "install packages from all publishers". After installing Domoticz you can put this setting back to "Synology only"
Back in Package Center you find now a new menu item "Community"
Open "Community" and you will be offered a whole new range of packages including Domoticz
(maybe you have to refresh the window the have the new packages shown up!)
Install Domoticz and after the installation you will be offered to update Domoticz like any other Synology package
Have fun!

Thanks, but i use the packages from 'jumbotroll' instead of SynoCommunity.
jumbotroll releases updates faster, see also here: http://domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 20&p=47544
Search for 'jadahl' repo on this forum.

Much appreciated, your packages work fine and are very handy for users who don't have a clue about compiling etc. (like me  )
Keep them coming!

You are right.... that why I also added the http://jadahl.dscloud.me/sspks/ link in my procedure for the updates.
In Synology package center you find the update when available thanks to Jumbotrol.... keep up the great work!

The SynoCommunity step can be removed from the list in your first post, don't see why that is needed anymore if you use jadahl repo

If I try to add your repo to my synology it returns " unknown location"
Does somebody understand why it does not work for me. Quite sure I use the proper URL.
http://jadahl.dscloud.me/sspks/

When using http://packages.synocommunity.com It works fine.
Im am running DSM4.2 on a DS209+

Hope you have a clue what goes wrong,
I want to update my domoticz to add netatmo. In Domoticz v2.2112 this driver is not availabe

That's a weird message to tell you that this is a package that is not from synology. By default it only accepts packages from a synology source. You must change this in the package settings menu in order to be able to install Domoticz.

Yes I know that. I tried to add it as a new packagesource in the package setting menu

Maybe try a different name? Or check if there are no spaces behind the URL.

Or just download the package from http://jadahl.dscloud.me/sspks/?arch=ppc853x and install it manually.

Is it still working? If I add the package I just can find "USB Serial Drivers" in Community Tab.

If i remember correctly, you have to tick the checkmark for 'I want to receive beta packages' somewhere in the Synology Package Center.

Already ticked. Can't find it still...

I have Synology running on a PC with xpenology/xpenoboot so my device is simulated 3615xs.
When I have a look at http://jadahl.dscloud.me/sspks/ I can't find 3615xs there :(

Or... use docker and pick one of the existing docker containers for domoticz (like https://hub.docker.com/r/sdesbure/domoticz/. Takes a couple of minutes and you are done.

DS3615xs use arch-bromolow.
I have added DS3615xs in the list now :-)

I have just tried to use Jumbotroll's package, but my DS209 only has DSM-4.2 installed. Jumbotroll's packages expects 5.0 or more, but my DS209 GUI tells me that it is up to date.
It does not seem to be upgradable to DSM-5.2 :(

I was wondering if I would install domoticz on either my syno or my FreeNas. It seems that I have the answer...
Unless Jumbotroll wishes to provide also DSM4.2 packages, but I can understand he would not 8-)

I don't have toolchain for DSM-4.2 for DS209, but for DMS-4.3.
I think DSM-4.3 will work, but you have to test.

I have compiled a test for you here: http://www.jadahl.com/domoticz_beta/

Is it possible to get the evohomescript working with the synology package? It's the only thing that stops me for using this package..
